This is how you get the app to work

Download the Google Home app, let it connect and update your sound bar, it will then work with the app. You can then uninstall the Home app if you don't need it further. It's ridiculous that Google's software works better than LGs, why don't the sound bars ship with working firmware? Why does LGs software not update it on its own? You should never have to download a third party app to get something within. LG clearly has no intention to fix this, so I at least hope this helps someone else looking for a solution.

Never Works

I highly dislike the app. I wish that I purchased a different brand sound bar. This app works sporadically with any mobile device. You will spend many frustrating hours trying to connect with this sound bar. Not worth the hassle.

Surround OFF

App is great, but would LOVE if surround sound actually turned off ALL noise from the rear speakers. It doesn’t. I don’t understand why have that feature if it doesn’t turn them all the way off. There is literally no way for me to temporarily turn off the rear speakers. Please consider adding this ability.

Great Soundbars/Horrible App

This app is absolutely horrible, we’ll let me correct that….its great when it actually works. The app is constantly loosing connection with the soundbar despite the soundbar still being connected to WiFi. I have spent hours troubleshooting and it just refuses to work consistently. I’d say the app connects and works 10-15% of the time. It’s actually pretty inexcusable that this is what LG provides considering that many of the soundbar features require app control.

worst app ever

Sound bar won’t connect to wifi or it drops connection. changes to the speaker balance does not register. The voice volume is too low, sound effects too high. and whenever i try to change it the changes don’t save. I knew i should’ve went with sonos. i am going to return this thing. the damn tv volume sounds better alone
