LumberCut: Cut List Optimizer

Bug fixes and performance improvements.

Stop guessing how many boards to buy. LumberCut is a cut list optimizer that nests every piece you need onto the fewest stock boards possible — so you walk into the lumber yard knowing the exact count and waste before you make a single cut. Most cut calculators ignore the saw. LumberCut subtracts the blade kerf on every single cut, so the optimized plan never leaves a board a few millimeters short. It runs a proven First-Fit Decreasing packing pass, places your longest pieces first, and hands you a clean layout you can take straight to the shop. WHAT YOU GET - The exact number of boards to buy — no over-ordering, no last-minute yard runs - A per-board cut diagram showing every piece, its length, and the leftover offcut - Kerf accounted for on every cut, so real-world boards actually fit - A yield and waste percentage that tells you how efficient your plan is - Board-foot totals for hardwood, so you buy the right amount by volume - Saved projects and reusable stock presets you can reopen anytime PERFECT FOR - Woodworkers building furniture, cabinets, and shelving - DIY builders framing walls, decks, and outdoor projects - Carpenters and contractors pricing out a materials list - Hobbyists who hate wasting expensive hardwood WHY NOT JUST DO THE MATH ON PAPER Because paper math forgets the kerf, packs pieces in the order you wrote them, and can't test a hundred arrangements in a second. LumberCut does the packing, subtracts every saw cut, and shows you the layout — you just cut. PRIVACY Every project stays on your device. No accounts, no ads, no tracking.
