HOW SURE ARE WE
Small app: combines its grossing ranks with ratings growth (306 new ratings a month on average since launch). Tested on 418 apps with verified revenue: typically off by about 2.6 times, so the range is wide. Countries we don't track (and Google Play in China, which doesn't exist) aren't included, and neither are ads or web payments. Gross revenue before store fees.

WHAT THEY COMPLAIN ABOUT · SHARE OF BAD REVIEWS
Price and subscription24%

26 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ I signed up for a trial and immediately got billed for an annual subscription.
★★★★★ After updating, I'm now blocked from connecting to any of my machines and I'm being forced to pay for a subscription.
★★★★★ Agent forwarding is a subscription feature in a pesos program.
Login and account problems14%

15 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ Requires login to terminus to use locally
★★★★★ This requires creating an account registration to do anything whatsoever.
★★★★★ use xTerminal instead, they don't monitor your commands in terminal and don't require telemetry scraping login credentials.
Bugs, things not working11%

12 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ Port forwarding has been broken for weeks… hard to love it any more.
★★★★★ I can use an ssh key to log in from a desktop, but Termius fails completely.
★★★★★ What should be a simple task turns into a confusing mess with buggy behavior, broken controls, and zero clarity.
Wrong or poor results10%

11 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ The AI feature is among the most useless, most poorly conceived features I have ever seen in any mobile app.
★★★★★ This maybe more of a iOS issue, but the keyboard takes up over half of the screen real estate dismissing that becomes crucial a lot times, especially when running tmux if there's no freaking way to do it unless you…
★★★★★ Charged $15 despite clear advertising that the free trial would have NO CHARGES until October 7th. I was billed early yesterday morning (October 5th) - two days before they said any payment would be taken. When you…
Lost data, sync, backup9%

10 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ The amount of times I've spent 10+ minutes typing into that box only to lose all the text I typed on submit is ridiculous.
★★★★★ I see that the arrow keys are now removed and you have to tap on the screen and then move your finger? This is completely unintuitive as I went to press the arrow graphic presented and it disappears since it only…
★★★★★ Let's consider, if I'd paid $120/yr for the past 8 years, that's $960… for a terminal… and I would still lose all that functionality if I didn't pay the “protection money” next month.
Worse after an update8%

9 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ Very annoyed that after multiple years of using this app they switched the vertical swipe scrolling direction for cursor navigation in text editors, with no setting to change.
★★★★★ This used to be a great app but in the latest version it is impossible to hide the Keyboard Toolbar even when the keyboard is hidden.
★★★★★ This app has been my go to for SSH, but this most recent update added an AI prompt box that takes up more screen real estate than is necessary, WITH NO WAY TO DISABLE IT!
Missing features5%

5 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ Beware this app is a stupid subscription model with no option to buy the app outright.
★★★★★ The amount of money that they're bringing in from revenue and the fact in the age of AI development that we're seeing features roll out as slow as we are shows a total lack of leadership maturity.
★★★★★ Even worse, there's no option to disable or hide them and it's eating up space of the terminal.
No customer support3%

3 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ Truly disgusting behavior that I cannot support.
★★★★★ Changes and implements features with no documentation, has no support contact available for users, just a barebones wiki.
★★★★★ Broke SFTP download of entire directories (including contents), due to a regression in support for files that contain spaces are special characters.
WHAT THEY ASK FOR
  • Please allow me to fully disable the ai prompt. 1★, Oct 14, 2026
  • The option to use AI is unclose-able even after restarting the app, I do not want the AI enabled please allow me to bypass or disable the prompt. 1★, Sep 23, 2026
  • Can you add a copy all button to the terminal history? 4★, Aug 18, 2026
  • Only issue is I wish there was a progress bar, or even a full-on "transfer manager" for the SFTP client. 5★, Jul 27, 2026
  • Does exactly what I need and doesn't bother me with subscriptions or any pop ups or adds 5★, Jul 10, 2026
  • Wish it was cheaper, but its served its purpose for more years than I can remember. 5★, Jun 8, 2026
  • my needs are minimal / i am not a power user. 5★, Apr 21, 2026
  • My only complaint is that I wish I had found it sooner. 5★, Mar 30, 2026

★★★★★ I just realized local and remote SSH port forwarding is available in the free version and works great, so had to leave a positive review!
★★★★★ This app seems to have it all figured out. Each time I've reached for a new tool (a key command, searching, zooming, control keys, you name it) it's already there and it's in an intuitive place or behind an intuitive…

Bottom sheet gets stuck and wouldn't go down!

The pro tier bottom sheets and the AI sheet, once toggled and popped open, WOULD NOT GO DOWN. This is making the app completely useless.
