WHAT THEY COMPLAIN ABOUT · SHARE OF BAD REVIEWS
Price and subscription28%

81 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ Revoked my email address and kept the money.
★★★★★ What they want you to do is buy the Irig or some compatible device with this app, download it then spend 25 bucks for sounds you actually want your instrument to sound like. If I were you I would just use the free…
★★★★★ A bit skeptical, I did not want to take a chance on losing another $150, so I tried to buy a “SVT pack” for $25; it did not repopulate but instead charged me another $25.
Bugs, things not working23%

67 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ Also, it has some weird glitches.
★★★★★ Other purchases stopped working and was give.
★★★★★ After a while it stopped working and IK Multimedia had me re-upload the app.
Crashes and freezes16%

47 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ Crashes as soon as I open it.
★★★★★ Can't even start the app. See the splash screen and then it dies.
★★★★★ Would love to check this out but it crashes immediately on launch.
Worse after an update14%

40 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ Since the iOS 16 update, this app is unable to operate without static.
★★★★★ When they write back they just say an update will be ready in the coming days.
★★★★★ Was a 5 star rating until the latest iOS update.
No customer support10%

28 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ Tried everything and cant contact a person to help , tried calling and tech service wont take calls .
★★★★★ IK support told me to re-purchase and they would populate for free.
★★★★★ Tried calling customer service with an issue and a couple questions.
Lost data, sync, backup7%

20 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ Apparently that's a lost sentiment anymore.
★★★★★ When I redownloaded the app on my new phone, all my purchases were gone, and the “restore purchases” option didn't work.
★★★★★ Next, frequent crashing/reboot of my iPhone (XS) and iPad Pro (5th gen) (not a device issue then, but a SW one, right?); output sound gone after disconnect/reconnect hardware, forcing reboot; flanger effect not saving…
Wrong or poor results7%

20 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ However, it is not updated with the latest iOS 16 and is completely useless.
★★★★★ The sample rate is wrong, music buzzes and pops.
★★★★★ This app is totally useless since the latest iOS 16 update.
Limits, credits, locked features6%

16 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ If I were you I would just use the free garage band for iPhone it's basically the same thing just you don't have to pay anything.
★★★★★ They also limit you to only one amp, two or three effects, and everything else is “Buy Now”.
★★★★★ Every feature like a simple looper you have to pay to unlock.
WHAT THEY ASK FOR
  • I just wish you were able to close out of the app and still be able to play since im new to bass, i still have to look at online sheet music for the songs i want to play; i cant really do that if every time i close out… 4★, May 9, 2021
  • It would be nice if it would once again be possible to buy the recorder without all of the unneeded extra stuff that is ridiculously expensive that I'll never use. 1★, Apr 27, 2021
  • I wish I could get a refund for all Ive I bought. 2★, Aug 29, 2018
  • Weak effort from a company who should have nailed it. 2★, Jul 15, 2018
  • 6/9/2016 please include a "are you sure that you want to delete this project option". 5★, Jun 9, 2016
  • Also it would be nice to bypass the cabinet and just use the head. 4★, Aug 9, 2015
  • They should have put the effort in making it a great bass app before moving on to drums and recording. 4★, Aug 9, 2015
  • I wish apps purchased for free version could be used on pay version of amplitude. 4★, Feb 1, 2015

WHAT THEY LOVE · SHARE OF GOOD REVIEWS
Worth the money26%

33 of the 4 and 5 star reviews.

★★★★★ BUT, it's only worth it if you have an iRig, and some gear of your own (pedals, etc)
★★★★★ Even the free version of this app is good.
★★★★★ Guitars pay the $119 for the app and all-in; it's worth it.
Accurate, great results14%

18 of the 4 and 5 star reviews.

★★★★★ Everything works well, just as described.
★★★★★ my father introduced me to this app though, and it works great!
★★★★★ Good sound quality with a decent selection of pedals.
Easy to use11%

14 of the 4 and 5 star reviews.

★★★★★ But money well spent man, this app is really easy to use once you get the hang of it.
★★★★★ But let's face it, they're smart and know that guitarists like to tinker with sound and use their intuitive sound sorcery to create the most unique sound for their electric guitar imaginable.
★★★★★ Easy to share recordings too.
Looks great7%

9 of the 4 and 5 star reviews.

★★★★★ Only problem is I usually have to unplug my interface from my iPad and then plug it right back in for it to work.
★★★★★ I currently use the iRig 2 interface with it, so an HD or HD2 would probably make it sound even better.
★★★★★ The app has great sounds with clean tone and distortion, including other effect pedals and quality brand amplifiers that are used by famous musicians.
Fun, addictive6%

8 of the 4 and 5 star reviews.

★★★★★ Even the free version of this app is good. The sounds are great on the amp mods and the stomps sound great too. My only complaint is that there's a slight latency when you are running multiple stomps at once.…
★★★★★ So fun to put your phone in your pocket, throw on the headphones and jam along to music.
★★★★★ I have recently purchased the iRig at my local Guitar Center for $19.99 figured it looked fun.

It’s a scam

What they want you to do is buy the Irig or some compatible device with this app, download it then spend 25 bucks for sounds you actually want your instrument to sound like. If I were you I would just use the free garage band for iPhone it’s basically the same thing just you don’t have to pay anything.

Honestly doesn’t not deserve the hate

I freaking love this app. BUT, it’s only worth it if you have an iRig, and some gear of your own (pedals, etc) People have been complaining about the pay walls. The only purchase I have made is access to the full recording software, which is 24 bucks. But money well spent man, this app is really easy to use once you get the hang of it. But other pay walls are for things like pedals for sound effects, and you can get a bundle of them for like 24 bucks too. People, most pedals cost like $100 EACH. So it’s a pretty good deal. If you have your own pedals your set though, completely compatible with whatever you wanna use.
