HOW SURE ARE WE
Not in any grossing chart, so this comes from ratings growth (1.0 new ratings a month on average since launch): revenue grows with new ratings, more slowly for apps that collect ratings fast. Tested on 418 apps with verified revenue: typically off by about 2 times, and big earners tend to come out low. Countries we don't track (and Google Play in China, which doesn't exist) aren't included, and neither are ads or web payments. Gross revenue before store fees.

★★★★★ But on iOS 17.0.3 it crashes on launch.
★★★★★ This app is fantastic when it works. Unfortunately that's only about 40% of the time. If I leave it open in the background and go back to it after using another app, the sound stops working. It looks like it's playing…
★★★★★ Hoping I'd been making some stupid, simple, easily remedied mistake, I sent an email EIGHT DAYS AGO to Frozen Ape asking for tech support or a refund but have received no response whatsoever.

  • For my purposes of using the pitch pro for long tones, it works superbly providing as many octaves as I need and a steady pitch with which to tune to. 5★, Nov 23, 2012

★★★★★ This is a great and useful app!

★★★★★ Provides pitch or piano notes which allows me to work on more challenging phrases while traveling. Also like the Christmas wreath option for the pitch pipe

Comfortable to use

This app looks and works like a traditional pitch pipe. It is easy to give a pitch unobtrusively from the midst of the choir.

Abandoned?

I loved this app. I used it occasionally and it always did what I wanted. But on iOS 17.0.3 it crashes on launch. And it has not been updated for years.

★★★★★Aug 24, 2023
If all you want is a standalone pitch pipe, hard to beat

There are newer options available now such as Tunable that include a tuner and metronome as long as with pitch, but for a buck this still does the job of a pitch pipe is the only thing you need. These tones are triangle wave I believe (keyboard mode), and sound less harsh. The pitch wheel is however kind of harsh.

Great electronic pitch pipe!

This is a really nice and easy to use device. As a visually impaired musician, though, it does need some work to make it fully accessible. For example, when playing a guitar note, it’s not announced. Overall, though, a great app.

Store description

Featured by Apple as "New and Noteworthy" on the main App Store landing page. Pitch Pipe+ is a tuner application for the playback of reference pitches, perfect for singing and tuning instruments. It consists of three views: Chromatic - Playback of all pitches from 6 octaves. Choose between the note sustaining indefinitely or for 3 seconds. Useful for choirs and a-capella singers as reference for starting note. Pitch Pipe - This one is for singers used to using chromatic pitch pipes. Sounds are sampled from actual pitch pipes. Choose between C-C and F-F pipes. Tap a currently playing note to kill it immediately. Guitar - Dedicated guitar tuner lets you tune to guitar samples in addition to the sine wave tone. Auto advance moves down the strings so you don't have to keep reaching for the phone. The following tunings are available: Standard, Dropped D, DADGAD, Open D, Open G, Open A. The last visited view is shown whenever you relaunch the app so you have instant access to your preferred view. Calibrate tuning from A = 414 to 466 Hz. Retina Displays supported.
