WHAT THEY COMPLAIN ABOUT · SHARE OF BAD REVIEWS
Price and subscription32%

58 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ try to cancel after free 3 days
★★★★★ usage caps behind a pay wall now.
★★★★★ great at the start but then when free hours run out, they don't reload, instead after the month passes they give you "10hrs" but say unusual activity, please sign up to premium and give us money .
Bugs, things not working18%

32 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ Try to use the "play it from here" feature instead, doesn't work.
★★★★★ Why even offer a free version if it doesn't work, and you can't help people when it doesn't work.
★★★★★ wasted my time downloading app, creating account and answering a bunch of questions that are none of your business and even uploaded my book after getting it converted to the best file type you suggest for your app and…
Login and account problems16%

29 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ account terminated 38 minutes after first warning.
★★★★★ They will ban or suspend your account without warning.
★★★★★ I wanted to try it but the free tier was disabled even with a brand new account so I moved to another app...
No customer support7%

13 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ I tried to talk to support and they do not help at all.
★★★★★ Had an issue with trying to read after a free trial, and sent emails to support.
★★★★★ The support says it's a formatting issue, but since something like Gemini can read pictures, not to mention text, it is a shameful excuse for a reader app.
Lost data, sync, backup5%

9 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ one flagged upload of a published true crime book, in effect no warning, and my whole library was gone permanently.
★★★★★ I decided to use this app, but when I tried to sign in via Google, it said my account had been deleted.
★★★★★ deleted account but they'll probably scrape the data regardless 🤮
Wrong or poor results4%

8 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ works intermittently and can't explain what's wrong.
★★★★★ Was ok until it started telling me something went wrong and that I should pay to continue using..
★★★★★ Expressive reading is good, but applying full emotion everywhere in a novel makes it sound natural in some places and wrong in others.
Limits, credits, locked features4%

7 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ You get rate limited even with the sub.
★★★★★ Also, stopping the user from converting new audiobooks without credit is fair enough, preventing the user from listening to audiobooks that have ALREADY been converted and added to the library is just plain…
★★★★★ But sadly, I've had to cancel my subscription because my download limit doesn't reset when it should.
Crashes and freezes3%

6 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ You cannot properly go back to another filtered screen, clicking favorite on a voice freezes the app for about 10 seconds before it adds, certain actions just loop you back to previous menus.
★★★★★ Love it when it worked, but it has been crashing and giving me grey screens.
★★★★★ Use it for studying but it kept crashing.
WHAT THEY ASK FOR
  • I love the app but please make sure to fix the 11 v4 model on the app like 11 labs why don't you add robust, natural, or creative. 5★, Oct 19, 2026
  • Please add Optimus Prime as a voice! 3★, Oct 17, 2026
  • Fix that and this app would be awesome. 4★, Oct 12, 2026
  • It would be nice to see the exact minutes still left, just like seen on windows, instead of just seeing the vague hours without knowing whether it is 59 minutes or 1 minute in the android app. 5★, Oct 11, 2026
  • can you please add a feature to connect to Google drive and amazon kindle and the libby overdrive app 4★, Oct 8, 2026
  • But I wish I could listen offline. 4★, Oct 8, 2026
  • It would be nice to have a way to turn off the continuous scrolling feature. 4★, Oct 7, 2026
  • Needs a stability fix for long reads 3★, Oct 6, 2026

★★★★★ extremely useful app, does exactly what you do expect, sound like a real human reading not a bot.

★★★★★ Easily the best voice quality on the store for reading books and light novels, dialogue sounds completely natural.
★★★★★ works well but a huge huge huge battery drain
★★★★★ Not high quality, but a decent voice that reads all of the languages, because your app started to support local text-to-speech on Android devices.

12 of the 4 and 5 star reviews.

★★★★★ functions are great, UI is clunky, no drag and drop, no intuitive and fast organization flow.
★★★★★ It's also very easy to use and has more functionalities!

8 of the 4 and 5 star reviews.

★★★★★ The Voices made my characters so natural and fun!
★★★★★ i love the app, it's super fun to listen to my stories in private without reading them...
★★★★★ Definitely had my reservations because I don't like ai voices but this is definitely an enjoyable experience, being about to listen to a story helps so much when my eyes get tired.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ As an aspiring fantasy author ElevenReader has been an incredible experience!! I'm currently writing a novel featuring characters with different accents, dialects, and personalities, and the new expressive voices bring them to life beautifully. The way the app captures emotion, dialogue, and natural speech patterns makes listening to my own story feel like a professionally narrated audiobook. Hearing my characters come alive has made me fall in love with my writing all over again. TY💙

★★★★★Oct 21, 2026

Easily the best voice quality on the store for reading books and light novels, dialogue sounds completely natural. The only thing missing is a built-in dictionary lookup or the ability to highlight a word and open it in my preferred dictionary app. Having to switch apps to check definitions takes you out of the story. Add that and it’s a quick 5/5. Great work otherwise!
