Forced ads appear not that much, probably every 10-20 minutes or so, which is not that often, but still can get pretty annoying at times. But overall, this game is a good backburner for when you get bored!
Great game I like the rubies however if I could suggest a few things 1. Add some quests to also earn rubies as well as diamonds 2. Some of the little missions to earn diamonds could also earn rubies (ex. Play gold supply operation earns 5 daimons but costs 20 diamonds to play instead makenit earn 5 rubies) currently aside from ruby lucky box then only to get them is to pay for them. Or maybe at a ruby supply mission to the special operations. You could also add rubies to boss battles as well.
