HOW SURE ARE WE
Lower confidence: this app ranks below the overall top 50 everywhere, where single estimates can be off 2 to 4 times. The range is wide on purpose. Countries we don't track (and Google Play in China, which doesn't exist) aren't included, and neither are ads or web payments. Gross revenue before store fees.

★★★★★ Trial/usage....problematic.
★★★★★ If it doesn't come back I'll have to cancel my subscription.
★★★★★ unfortunately after looking at one possible route for a trip I'm taking this weekend, it will not let me enter any more routes unless I take a trial version of the premium app, which I do not wish to do at this time.

★★★★★ limited choices of cities.
★★★★★ It took over Google maps and then I had no sound and it took away the speed limit information.

★★★★★ used to work...now just freezes "loading radar"...other selections fail to show selected data.
★★★★★ I was surprised by snow and freezing fog en route, which the app failed to recognize.
★★★★★ And the first thing that happened is I got an error saying the starting and ending location must be different.

Worse after an update3%

4 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ upon opening found I can't use anything "weather" related on the app unless I purchase an update.
★★★★★ The app kept freezing for me to update to the pro version.
★★★★★ Latest update doesn't allow route input unless you pay the ridiculous yearly fee is a change to serviceability and to me not worth the fee.
Login and account problems2%

3 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ I am literally stuck in a snowstorm on I-80 said they needed a credit card number but just to activate the account, no charge. Was supposed to be taken out.
★★★★★ To create a free account, you "verify your account with a credit card." I don't know how that works, but I'm not gonna find out.
★★★★★ It's useless now that it is showing the wrong temperature and I don't want it automatically charging my account.
Lost data, sync, backup2%

3 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ If you think about it, it's enough time to get someone use to something and then when they lose functionality, they will pay...

RV travel rated this number one. Absolute tosh. Windy app was 3rd in there eyes. Don't bother with this. Windy app so much better

★★★★★Oct 10, 2026

Nice to see the weather on the route.

★★★★★Oct 9, 2026

Along route wind prediction no longer shows direction. I drive a motorhome. This is the main reason I use the app. I paid for the pro version. The wind speed bubble had an arrow indicating direction. It's gone. I won't be renewing next May.

used to work...now just freezes "loading radar"...other selections fail to show selected data. IF and when it works...location search cannot find most towns. Basically free version unusable. Response from vendor to reviews is somewhat aggresive vs helpful. Concept is good. Trial/usage....problematic.

Store description

See the weather you'll actually drive through. Drive Weather forecasts conditions along your whole route — timed to where you'll be and when you'll be there — so you can leave at the right hour, take the safer road, or wait out the storm. HOW IT WORKS Enter a start and destination. Drive Weather builds your route, then forecasts rain, snow, wind, temperature and visibility at each point based on your travel speed and arrival time. Move the timeline slider to compare departure times and instantly see how the drive changes. LIVE RADAR ON YOUR ROUTE Watch storms move across your route in real time. Animated radar shows precipitation, snowfall and approaching cells, so you can see what's ahead before you reach it. BUILT FOR ROAD CONDITIONS Drive Weather highlights the parts of a trip that need attention: heavy rain, snow and ice risk, reduced visibility, and crosswinds. Wind speed and direction are shown along the route — the detail that matters most if you drive a semi, RV, box truck or trailer. WHO USES IT Truck drivers, RV and caravan owners, delivery and rideshare drivers, commuters, motorcyclists, and anyone planning a long drive. If your day depends on the road, this is the forecast built for it. KEY FEATURES • Weather forecast along your entire driving route • Animated live radar over your route and destination • Wind speed, direction and gusts • Rain, snow, ice risk, temperature and visibility • Departure-time slider to compare when to leave • Severe weather alerts and storm warnings • Multi-stop trips and alternate route comparison • Works on phone, tablet, Android Auto and Android TV WHY DRIVERS USE IT A standard weather app gives you the forecast for a city. Drive Weather gives you the forecast for a journey — every mile of it, at the time you'll be there. One screen instead of three apps, and a much clearer answer to the only question that matters: is this a good time to go? Drive Weather is free to use. An optional premium subscription unlocks the full feature set, available monthly or annually.
