Crumbs: DNS Privacy

UX improvements to DNS setup

Your phone knows where you go, who you talk to, and what you do all day. Right now, dozens of companies quietly collect that — in the background, inside the apps you already use. Crumbs stops them. Crumbs blocks trackers at the network level, before they ever reach your data. No new browser. No settings to babysit. Switch it on once and it works across every app and website on your phone. See who's watching. Crumbs shows you the companies caught trying to track you, and how many times it shut them down. • Blocks trackers across all your apps, not just your browser • Sets up in under a minute — one tap, no technical know-how • Watch the blocked-tracker count climb, so you can see it working • Lightweight — no noticeable hit to speed or battery Crumbs uses Android's VPNService API to create a local connection on your device. Crumbs captures the DNS lookups your device makes — the requests that translate a name like "tracker.example.com" into a numeric address — and sends them to the Crumbs private DNS resolver over an encrypted connection. The Crumbs resolver checks each lookup against our tracker and threat blocklists. Requests to known trackers and malware sites are refused. Everything else resolves normally, so your apps and websites work as usual. Your data should be yours. Crumbs keeps it that way.
