HOW SURE ARE WE
Small app: combines its grossing ranks with ratings growth (146 new ratings a month on average since launch). Tested on 418 apps with verified revenue: typically off by about 2.6 times, so the range is wide. Countries we don't track (and Google Play in China, which doesn't exist) aren't included, and neither are ads or web payments. Gross revenue before store fees.

6 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

Price and subscription10%

★★★★★ Very disappointing for a service you're paying a reasonable amount of money for.
★★★★★ Didn't realise you had to pay an annual subscription of £120 until I'd installed it.
★★★★★ I can't download an individual course I can only get the opening page which requires a full annual subscription to do anything Very disappointing I will delete it
Slow, laggy, battery6%

2 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ Secondly, it's very slow and appears to be incredibly clichy.
★★★★★ Incredibly bad handling of offline content, takes forever, very poorly optimised.
WHAT THEY ASK FOR
  • However I maintain my criticism that it should have a search function and a simple text list (perhaps by subject as well as alphabetically). 3★, Feb 7, 2024
  • Good start but ideally needs a much better way of locating our purchased lessons and navigating through those without having to start a video first. 2★, Oct 1, 2023
WORDS THAT KEEP COMING UP IN BAD REVIEWS

Nothing stands out.

WHAT THEY LOVE · SHARE OF GOOD REVIEWS
Easy to use9%

5 of the 4 and 5 star reviews.

★★★★★ The mobile app could have been more user-friendly (not easy to start where you left off, no progress shown, often past lessons are not marked as done)
★★★★★ When I come back to lessons, it isn't easy to navigate to the instructor's main page requiring a start and stop on a video, not the continue but from the random list.
★★★★★ Which is really easy to follow and each lesson is set out well covering that subject.
Useful, it helps4%

2 of the 4 and 5 star reviews.

★★★★★ Helps with avoiding procrastination
Looks great4%

2 of the 4 and 5 star reviews.

★★★★★ Good user interface amazing and detailed information packed into tight and refined lessons no waflle or unnecessary information great app happy learning 👍
Accurate, great results4%

2 of the 4 and 5 star reviews.

★★★★★ App works well, much improved.
★★★★★ Minor quality of life features such as being able to turn on/off subtitles from the video screen or consistent behavior when going from portrait to landscape mode are missing.
Worth the money4%

2 of the 4 and 5 star reviews.

★★★★★ Worth every moment in time learning from BBC Maestro experts and every penny spend on subscription!!

★★★★★Oct 2, 2026

Great. better than Masterclass (when the volume of courses increase).

★★★★★Sep 29, 2026

From the version just installed I cannot access my library of saved courses, which I can instead access from the website version. This is not practical and might therefore avoid using the app.

★★★★★Jun 19, 2026

The app. is really bad. I constantly have to reset my password and it crushes.

★★★★★May 19, 2026

A great and inspirational watch from the recognised master of TV Drama writing. I appreciated his structural view and insights into the thinking behind story telling techniques.

★★★★★May 6, 2026

Epic 🌟

★★★★★May 4, 2026

Great content and an Ok App. Things that are missing: Creating your own list of learning classes and being able to return to them when you reopen the app instead of having to seatch every time.
