I think it's an amazing idea and very well executed. You obviously have to put time into doing exercises, as with any lenguage, repetition is key. I tried first the demo, and then bought the game. No adds or any of that nonsense. So far very happy with my choice and recommending it to anyone I know. An advice, use "Hohoho" as your caracter name for more immersion :)

The game focuses on testing your Japanese, rather than teaching Japanese. It would be a better game if the tests were replaced with conversations where you could click on a word to see the translation and add it to your dictionary. I stopped playing because users see a word once and then get tested on it multiple times - it would be more fun if the game was purely exposure to words in a natural context.
Please put in some mnenonics for the kanjis 😭 I can somehow remember which kanji sounds what but it seems impossible to remember how these kanjis look. I am already confused between 'nan' and 'iki'masu kanji both look so much similar...
