Cavale: Learn French

Explore two French story adventures, practise words and conversations, and build Bubu’s World. This update improves lesson audio, background music, and saved progress.

Madame Fontainebleau's secret croissant recipe has been stolen, and the only way to get it back is in French. Cavale is a French course you play like a game. You land in Paris with Ziggy, a young reporter, and Bubu, a French bulldog in a blue beret who has opinions about everything. You order at the café, listen in on the next table, search the room for clues and talk your way to the thief. Every line you learn is one you can use on a real trip. SAY IT OUT LOUD You hear real French voices, then you answer. Cavale listens to your recording and shows you which words came through. On the bus or in a quiet room? Switch to « Dans ma tête » and say it in your head instead. LEARN IN THE SCENE Bonjour, un croissant, un café, s'il vous plaît. You pick up the first phrases where you would need them: at the counter, at the table, with the waiter waiting for your order. PLAY BETWEEN THE LESSONS Chase Bubu through a harbour town by following Ziggy's « à gauche ! ». Sneak past the sleeping Black Cat to lift the pastry domes. Spot the word in the picture before the clock runs out, say a line on the beat, pick the door Bubu is hiding behind. Then something goes wrong: a thief grabs Ziggy's notebook, a telegram arrives with its fuse burning. Each surprise brings a few new words and teaches them before it tests you. AFTER THE STORY Build Bubu's island and look after him. Fly the balloon to new places. Review your words with flash cards that come back just before you forget them. Practice a conversation with Elio, an old opera singer with a lot to say, or order in a market and give an address to a taxi driver. TWO STORIES TO START Bubu's Paris Adventure: the stolen recipe, the café and the Black Cat. Une bouteille à la mer: a message in a bottle on a small Mediterranean bay. Cavale is free, with no ads.
