No longer usable on my Samsung S25. The journaling buttons to add a photo, change the date and save are all hidden under my phone's menu bar, so if I try to add an entry, it's just exits me from the entry. Worked fine a few weeks ago.
I have 3 journals in this app, I was one of their first users in 2021. I had a paid account for 1 year and I was a free-tier used as well. I have around 600 entries across these 3 journals. So it's been 5 years, lots of pictures and lots of memories, and it's all gone. I can pay $9.99 to get access back, or $4.99 to only get 2 journals for 1 month to edit, then I should pay at least $45 ($15 *3) to download the PDFs which I don't even need. So $50 min out of nowhere or I am going to lose it all
1 week warning to pay or lose memories. the app wasn't even that great before the deadline. it's unfortunate that I was never able to go back and read all those memories. it's been over 6 years of recording moments via text. most times I got an error message when it asked me to send in a photo but would never accept it. Or the prompt for one child was immediately followed by a prompt for another kid, so the first one then couldn't be answered. dumb app and poor thinking on the developer's part.
I used to LOVE this app and recommended it to every parent I knew! It sent weekly texts that I could respond to and would be automatically put into my kids' journals, and allowed unlimited entries. Over the 5 years I've used it, the free access has dwindled more and more to the point that when I got on two weeks ago, I was told my journals would be deleted unless I upgraded and only had access to buy the books!! There wasn't any forewarning!! It's such a shame. This really was the best app.
I’ve used Qeepsake for almost 5 years to save special memories of my kids, which was great! Then I get an email saying my account would be deactivated in 8 days unless I paid, which honestly felt upsetting and stressful. I understand companies need to make money, but this change felt very sudden and poorly handled, especially for long-time users. Even just to download a PDF with your memories costs $15. Forcing customers into paying like this is a predatory business practice.
This app has turned into scam. We used it for 5 years and decided to keep all my childrens info from me unless I paid them. 5 years of memories they kept captive and I was forced to pay to keep them. We trusted this app to keep our memories, which was my fault. Would not recommend it to anyone.
