HOW SURE ARE WE
Not in any grossing chart, so this comes from ratings growth (0.6 new ratings a month on average since launch): revenue grows with new ratings, more slowly for apps that collect ratings fast. Tested on 418 apps with verified revenue: typically off by about 2 times, and big earners tend to come out low. Countries we don't track (and Google Play in China, which doesn't exist) aren't included, and neither are ads or web payments. Gross revenue before store fees.

Peace

No messing with sliders or options or layers. Just. Peace.

My favorite white noise app

This is my favorite white noise app. The app description sounds like it was made up by AI or something, but it is remarkably truthful. This app does white noise like no other. It is a soothing, masking sound unlike anything else. Very much worth grabbing.

Its genius is the simplicity

Even though I prefer brown noise or green noise over white or pink, I end up choosing this app every single time when I want to get back to sleep in the early morning, for the simple fact that all I need to do is put on my headphones and open the app. No searching, no fiddling around, no accidentally waking myself up too much by using my screen and brain for too long. Thank you! UPDATE: Even though I'd already given this app 5 stars, I'm updating it to reiterate just how great it is. My circumstances have changed and I can no longer use headphones, but even using it with just the phone speaker it still works very well. I have come to rely on this app so much to get a decent night's sleep that I can no longer imagine my life without it. And still to this day, its simplicity is its genius. Just one tap to open the app, and go to sleep. Please don't ever change this perfection of an app. And thank you, again, for changing my health for the better!

The perfect sound to help fall asleep

I’ve been using Earplug every night for several years. I travel several nights a week and wherever I am it takes only a few minutes to fall asleep. The sound is perfect to fall asleep to.

Works great for me

I have several sleep aid apps, some of which seem to have hundreds of options. This app has one option, and it works great for me. I use it every night.

What's new in 3.40

New in this release: Earplug now feels a little more at home in iOS. You can now add Earplug to Control Center, giving your sound environment a quiet place among the controls you already reach for throughout the day. It is there when the moment calls for it: while settling in, stepping away from the screen, or returning to a familiar backdrop without opening the app first. It is a modest addition in appearance, but a graceful one in use. Earplug becomes easier to reach, easier to return to, and a little more naturally woven into the rhythm of the phone.

Released Mar 1, 2015. Current version shipped May 23, 2026.

Store description

"La semplicità è la suprema sofisticazione" -- Leonardo da Vinci Earplug is a minimalist relaxation app. When you can't sleep, reach for Earplug. It only does one thing... perfectly. Sleep, meditate and concentrate soundly with a buttery–smooth "masking" track that can help to hide: • Snoring • Sirens • Wild animals • Distant screams • Neighbors • Poltergeists • Sadness • Breathing EARPLUG SOUND Earplug Sound is our proudest creation: it's a rarefied blend of pink and white noise looped and spun like silk; Earplug’s Sound pairs up perfectly with almost any source of environmental noise, helping to lessen its impact and free your mind. DISTRACTION-FREE APP When you need Earplug most, you're either half-asleep or you want to be. You don't want to fiddle. You want the app that was created by experts in audio and user interface to guide your experience. Earplug has no options, no popups and no nags... Ever! We made Earplug because we're like you. We love sleep-sound apps but never found what we were searching for, so we built our own: Earplug. It's distraction-free in its sound, design and stability, and it's quality from beginning to end. INSTRUCTIONS • Unlock your iPhone, iPad or Mac • Open the Earplug app Earplug can also be controlled from the Control Center, Apple Watch, and the iPhone lock screen. The App also works great with headphones (especially Sony WH-1000XM3 Wireless Noise-Canceling Headphones and Bose QuietComfort 35 Series II) and external speakers. The App will resume after your alarm or timer goes off, and will respond to the Bluetooth media controls on your lock screen. SLEEP Sleep isn't something you do. Wait for it! TELL US WHAT YOU THINK With all questions, comments and feedback email us at support [at] confusionStudios [dot] com. THANKS Thanks for checking out Earplug and sweet dreams!
