HOW SURE ARE WE
Small app: combines its grossing ranks with ratings growth (3641 new ratings a month on average since launch). Tested on 418 apps with verified revenue: typically off by about 2.6 times, so the range is wide. Countries we don't track (and Google Play in China, which doesn't exist) aren't included, and neither are ads or web payments. Gross revenue before store fees.

WHAT THEY COMPLAIN ABOUT · SHARE OF BAD REVIEWS
Price and subscription11%

27 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ I have been trying for several weeks to get in and cancel this and it still has not been canceled.
★★★★★ I paid for this app and they took all of the functionality I depend on every day and stuck it behind a subscription paywall.
★★★★★ When you think about this should cheaper.
Worse after an update5%

12 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ I'm VERY disappointed with the updated app - it sacrifices efficiency & usefulness for aesthetics.
★★★★★ I love this app, normally, but a recent update made the app's interface (the bar of tools at the top of the page) white and I hate it!
★★★★★ Unfortunately the recent UI update is a significant step backwards.
Lost data, sync, backup4%

10 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ However, for some reason, recently the sync feature for google drive folders is not working properly.
★★★★★ Before the iOS 27 update, whenever I conecetd an external display there was a “presenting” mode that would mirror my PDF with extra features, but now its gone…
★★★★★ This app deleted all of work.
Bugs, things not working3%

8 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ However, for some reason, recently the sync feature for google drive folders is not working properly.
★★★★★ Squeeze action on Apple Pencil doesn't bring up the tool palette advertised on the App Store. Double tap works fine.
★★★★★ Since the iOS 27 update, the presentation view is broken.
Limits, credits, locked features3%

7 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ If you want to edit pdf you need to pay.
★★★★★ Instead of showing only the current page to the AirPlay receiver, it only enters the “limited interface” view, and still shows the editing interface and swipe page transitions to the audience.
★★★★★ I tried to edit the text of my PDF, you have to pay for the pro version.
No customer support3%

7 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ I contacted support yesterday and have not yet heard back.
★★★★★ I have purchased this software multiple times because no one will help me restore the purchase. Buyer beware
★★★★★ This is the second time Readdle has revoked that access, first in 2025, now again in June 2026, both times forcing me to argue with support and provide old receipts just to get back something I already paid for.
Missing features3%

7 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ I can't go back I cant downgrade to the last version theres no way to do that on iphone.
★★★★★ It can't edit text on graphic from my phone screen shot.
★★★★★ No way to drag and drop text so you need to hope it will detect the correct size of the text box, it never does so it's useless.
Crashes and freezes2%

4 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ I love this app but recently it started crashing so often it became so annoying.
★★★★★ UPDATE: With months of emails to PDF Expert complaining of constant freezing and crashing while always referencing my purchase of their original grandfathered one-time fee app, PDF Expert just completely severed my…
★★★★★ This seemed promising until i tried to upload my first civil Planset and it crashed.
WHAT THEY ASK FOR
  • Need a fix for this asap. 1★, Oct 11, 2026
  • Please make it changeable back to the black, because otherwise, you just ruined a perfectly good app. 1★, Oct 3, 2026
  • I wish I could downgrade, or will have to find another app. 1★, Sep 28, 2026
  • But it would be great to improve handwriting and make it smoother. 4★, Sep 7, 2026
  • They took away features just to add a sub subscription model. 1★, Aug 29, 2026
  • Please make an integration with ChatGPT as a plugin or something please!!! 5★, Jul 31, 2026
  • Please bring that back! 4★, May 28, 2026
  • It's too bad because this was a very functional program but now it's littered with buttons for "premium" features (not everything needs AI shoehorned into it) and nagging popups whenever it's opened promoting… 1★, Apr 19, 2026

WHAT THEY LOVE · SHARE OF GOOD REVIEWS
Useful, it helps5%

10 of the 4 and 5 star reviews.

★★★★★ It's not only useful for work but handy in every day life as well.
★★★★★ This software is indispensable if you use PDFs and who doesn't? The OCR capability with the laptop version - the AI that can summarize - the annotation capability. just wonderful.
★★★★★ For me that that's the most useful pro function I could have.
Looks great3%

6 of the 4 and 5 star reviews.

★★★★★ Hello, I received the new update, but the app interface is now poorly designed.
★★★★★ The user interface is incredibly intuitive, making navigation a joy rather than a chore.
Worth the money2%

5 of the 4 and 5 star reviews.

★★★★★ Took me 1 minute to fill and sign a form I stuggled with for 15 minutes on other “free” PDF editor software.
★★★★★ Love all the features provided in free mode.
★★★★★ I usually don't care for paying for subscriptions to anything so I canceled this after seven days however, this thing is definitely worth it I just needed it from one document, but I would definitely buy it if I needed…
Great support2%

5 of the 4 and 5 star reviews.

★★★★★ But it puzzles me why it doesn't support OCR when the company has that in Scanner Pro.
★★★★★ My only gripe is that it doesnt support the Apple Pencil Pro.
★★★★★ Lo and behold, I reach out to customer service and have yet to hear back about a refund.
Easy to use2%

4 of the 4 and 5 star reviews.

★★★★★ I really like this app for annotating, and easy access to Dropbox, and I have sprung for the pro version, however I'm disappointed that it doesn't have OCR.
★★★★★ The old design was better, more comfortable, and more user-friendly.
★★★★★ The user interface is incredibly intuitive, making navigation a joy rather than a chore.

アップデートの度に不満が増える

iPadで使用しています。授業の板書で使っているのですが、ファイルを開く度に生成AIが起動して、邪魔です。そのせいで動作も重くなっているため、機能をオフにできるようにして欲しいです。

Pay, Pay Again

Every Readdle app becomes a bait & switch treadmill. iOS is such a joke operating system plagued by app developers who aren’t content to sell you software just once, since Apple constantly changes the APIs. Compressing a file is a basic feature. I’m not paying again for that and you should be ashamed.

Pay required to edit

If you want to edit pdf you need to pay. Doesn’t seem to align with description.
