Writ10: Novel & Book Writer

No release notes.

Writ10 is a quiet place to write a novel. Open the app and you are home: your recent stories, and one line to start a new one. Open a story and there is only the page — your chapters on the left, your notes on the right, and nothing in the way of the next sentence. WRITE • A clean sheet set in New York, Apple’s serif, in the size you prefer • Chapters you can rename, reorder by dragging and move to the Trash — and back • Bold, italic and strikethrough, and nothing more to distract you • Page breaks and section breaks drawn right on the page • Word and character counts, reading time and the length of the whole story PLAN • Switch to the board and lay your chapters out as post-its • Colour them, connect them with marker arrows and tag them with stamps for characters or plot threads • Pan and zoom like a map; double-click a post-it to go back to the chapter • Notes for every chapter, in colour, always beside the text NEVER LOSE A DRAFT • Time Machine keeps earlier versions of your story and shows them beside today’s text, to read and copy from — or to bring the whole story back • Versions are kept at the moments that matter: the first opening of the day, before large deletions, and whenever you press ⌘S • Every save is atomic, and timestamped backups are kept automatically • If another app changes your file, Writ10 notices and asks which version to keep FIND ANYTHING • Search the whole manuscript at once and jump straight to the passage SHARE YOUR BOOK • Compile to Word, PDF, EPUB, RTF, Markdown or plain text, laid out like a book: a title page, each chapter on a new page, justified text and hyphenation in your book’s language MADE FOR THE MAC • Native macOS controls, menus and keyboard shortcuts • Your stories are ordinary files on your Mac: no account, no sign-in • In English, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and French
