Every map app shows you the same chains. This one hides them. Anything But A Chain maps only the independent, locally owned restaurants near you. Over 400 national and regional chain brands are filtered out automatically, including the sub-brands that try not to look like chains. What's left is the local, owner-run spots. Support Independent & Local! SEE WHAT GOT FILTERED A live counter shows how many chains are hidden in the area you're looking at. Tap it to see exactly which brands were removed and how many locations of each. No black box. AS STRICT AS YOU WANT Standard hides national and well-known chains. Strict also hides regional and local mini-chains, meaning any spot with several locations in the area, even if it isn't on the national list. HELP ME DECIDE Can't pick? Tell it what you're craving, and what the person you're with wants too. It reads the independents currently around you and picks the best matches, with a short reason for each. It can only choose from real places on your map, so it will never invent a restaurant or slip a chain back in.
