Giving It Time

⭐⭐⭐⭐ I’m giving HubbaBaba 4 stars because I really like the concept and the opportunity it gives women who are genuinely interested in dating Asian men and learning more about the culture. I appreciate that the app creates a space specifically for that interest. One thing I do want to mention is something the creator discussed early on about finding love. He recommended getting professional photos and, essentially, wearing clothing that shows more of your assets. I understand the idea behind wanting attractive photos and making a good first impression, but personally, that isn’t how I want to find love. I want someone to be interested in getting to know me for who I am, including my personality, heart, values, and the connection we can build—not primarily because of how much of myself I’m willing to show in a photo. My personal experience on the app has also been a little disappointing so far. I’ve been on it for about a month and, despite having photos I feel good about and making a couple of attempts to connect, I haven’t received a single message or connection. On other dating apps, I’ve had more interaction, so it has definitely made me wonder whether it’s my age, the smaller pool, or simply how the app works. I’m still giving 4 stars because I think the idea behind HubbaBaba is worthwhile, and I’m glad an app like this exists. I just hope there continues to be more activity and opportunities for women in my age group to genuinely connect with the men they’re interested in. For me, finding love should ultimately be about two people being curious about each other, having meaningful conversations, and discovering whether there is a real emotional and physical connection—not just presenting the most appealing photo.
