Ebbwise: Ride Out Phone Urges

Ebbwise helps you notice the pull to pick up your phone and ride it out, instead of fighting it with willpower alone. URGE RIDE When you feel the itch to scroll, start a ride. Choose what is pulling at you, rate how strong the urge is from 1 to 10, then breathe with a slow on-screen wave for 60, 90 or 120 seconds. Gentle haptic cues pace your breathing. Halfway through, rate the urge again, and once more at the end. Then decide: let it pass, or open the app with a stated intention. INTENTION WINDOW If you decide to go ahead, write what you will do ("reply to one message") and choose a 2, 5, 10 or 15 minute window. An optional local reminder tells you when the window ends, and Ebbwise asks whether you stuck to it. Your answers become a simple kept-intention rate. AUTOMATIC PAUSE WITH SHORTCUTS Ebbwise adds a "Ride Out an Urge" action to Apple's Shortcuts app. You can create your own automation, for example "when a video app is opened, run Ride Out an Urge", and the pause appears each time you open that app. While an intention window is open for that label, the action finishes quietly so you can switch back without a loop. A step-by-step setup guide is built in. Ebbwise does not block, close or monitor other apps; the pause only happens through an automation you create and can switch off at any time. YOUR URGE CURVE Insights show how your urges actually change during a pause: the average intensity at the start, halfway and at the end, the share of urges you let go, the average drop, per-label results and a journal of every ride. Every number is computed only from what you logged. FACE-DOWN FOCUS Start a 10, 25, 45 or 60 minute session and lay your iPhone screen-down. The timer only runs while it stays there. Pick it up and the clock pauses and records a pickup. Each session shows a ribbon of when the phone was still and when it was lifted. Optional "low tide" noise is generated on the device. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account, no analytics, no ads and no network requests. Your log stays on this iPhone and you can erase it at any time in Settings.
