★★★★★ Yes it's subscription, but support the musicians who create the tunes so the FEEL BOOK can keep putting out high-quality tracks.

Very close to being great

I will preface by saying that I am a jazz piano player. These tracks are of high quality, and I’ve used them on live gigs. If they were to improve in these areas, I could truly consider this a great app: 1. Keep settings - obviously, I want to mute the piano part on every track and keep the bass and drums, but the settings reset if you move out of one tune to another. So, if I mute the piano part, KEEP IT MUTED. 2. Playlists - I would love to be able to make a quick playlist of tunes for a specific gig, reorder them, and the settings I make for that playlist stay the same. For instance, I may need to change the original key for a singer, so I’d want the settings for the tune to live inside the playlist, but keep concert key everywhere else. 3. Change form - I’d love the option to drop or add choruses to the track. Currently, you cannot do this, and it’s difficult to navigate to the final head and click the first measure. Instead, I can determine beforehand how many choruses I need and set and forget. Also, adding different intros/outros to be able to select would be fantastic, as many of the tunes end abruptly on a button, 4. More songs - I know new songs/styles are being added every day, but I’d love more variety. Keep up the good work here! For now, it’s a 4 star app, but these changes added would take it over the top for me!

I won't be extending my trial

The biggest problem is the basic UI of the app, which I find to be both ugly and hard to use. I'm mostly using it on the Mac where I would think it would be easier to navigate the library of songs, but no, because the page down / up keys don't even work. This would be forgivable on an iPhone app running in compatibility mode on the Mac, but this is the native Mac app. The iPhone UI isn't any better. Lots of very unpolished aspects that just make the app feel cheap. Random example, when you go to delete all downloads the instructions say "Press on that to delete…". Press on "that"? Really? You mean "that" button? Also after I downloaded all the songs I like, you would think I could filter by just those. But no, I still have to either search (which requires me remembering what I liked) or scroll through their entire library. Next, be aware that there aren't that many songs here. The first that I searched on, some of my favorites to jam with, Airegin and Move, aren't there. I will say the quality of the backing tracks is great but overall this isn't worth the $$.

Incredible, some small hiccups.

This is the best app in this category. Period. My issues are: you can only download one tune at a time from the populate list and you can’t have the tracks running as a background like Spotify so I can lock my screen and save the battery life on my phone/iPad just to listen to the tracks which are absolutely incredible. All in all, the work put into it is phenomenal and once again, there isn’t a better app out there right now that replicates what this does. Well done!

Great sounds - one bad flaw

This is five stars except for two things - the subscriptions system, and lack of background play. You can pay for Quartet and own it (and with the new revision Quartet is fantastic). Here you pay $50 a year for limited tunes. They will increase, but 50 gets you all of Quartet and no more $. I’m all for paying the musicians and developers, but that is too much, especially given the other flaw, I have to have tunes memorized as I can’t flip to ForScore while the Feel Book is playing. So I can play Misty, and Cherokee. That’s it. Seems easy to correct, but what do I know? These are the hippest backing tracks available, but not so much better than Quartet that it makes it worth is given these flaws.

Modern play along done right

I am really enjoying the simplicity of using the app. Sounds great. The only thing on my wish list is an accompanying notation of the melody. Would be nice to have treble and bass versions for those of us in the rhythm section.

Don’t get the hype

I was excited to use this when it came out. But besides the small repertoire, the app software is pretty bad. Every time I have to use it I get some random error code that logs me out and then I have to log in. Not to mention the long load time. IReal is still king, I must sadly report.
