OK Start.

The app is clearly not a native app and doesn’t support many of the aspects that make iPhone apps special. The iconography can be difficult to decipher. Animations are either jumpy or don’t exist at all. Gestures and layout are blocked and blocky. Images aren’t full bleed and large text sizes aren’t well supported. Loading profiles, galleries, and collections is slow, and the overall experience of uploading your own images is slow and takes too many steps. The subscription doesn’t seem worth it at this time. And limiting to 10 uploads per day feels user-hostile, which is the opposite of how you should be feeling, as the user of a new platform. You should be encouraging users to get their entire portfolios uploaded and organized as quickly as possible. That way, they’re excited and share and sell the virtues of this app. The developers and designers definitely need to take more time to think about how this app could feel great, not just anti-IG

Excellent

I use the IRYS app on both my iPad and IPhone and I love sharing my photos with other photographers. The app is easy to use and works perfectly for me. I really like that there are no ads, and I don‘t think the membership fee is to high. I would be nice if there was a desktop version, as it would make uploading photos easier.

Fantastic!

I find the Irys app a breath of fresh air. I really enjoy being able to just look at photographs that are truly amazing by the very talented photographers. My favorite feature is being able to zoom in and see the photo on the entire screen of my phone no more squinting. Also, it’s ad free, which is really great. I recommend it to anybody who loves photography.

Solide

Eine sehr solide App, mit einer noch kleinen Mitglieder zahl, deshalb schraubt eure erwartungen für Reaktionen auf eure Fotos am Anfang etwas herunter. Dafür ist Irys nicht Bot-verseucht, wie andere Plattformen. Ich finde sie leicht zu bedienen und übersichtlich.

Truly an app for photographers

Downloaded this app when I decided to get off of IG and I honestly love it. Of course you don’t get as much interactions and posts but it stops me from doomscrolling and the interactions mean a lot more when it’s from another photographer I respect. On top of all that, it’s nice to see more art and less lifestyle
