If you can play a real tulum, you can play this. Tulum 4 puts the Turkish Black Sea bagpipe and the sipsi reed pipe in your pocket, driven by a sound engine built from recordings of the real instrument. It is the fourth generation of a series that has been on the store since 2011, and more than ten thousand people have learned to play with it at home. The tulum is the bagpipe of the eastern Black Sea — Rize, Trabzon, Artvin. A skin bag, a double chanter, no octave break and no pause for breath. If you already play the bagpipe — Highland pipes, gaida, zampogna, uilleann, Marktsackpfeife — or any traditional wind instrument, the fingering here will feel familiar within minutes. ▸ START FROM ZERO • Beginner mode: colour-coded keys guide your fingers from a single note to your first tune • Fingering charts and ornament (titretme) guides for every hole • Single-note, scale, ornament and folk-song exercises • Built-in lessons; write your own by typing the notes or by playing them • Share a lesson as a .tlm file and send it to your student ▸ PLAYING • Twin chanters in stereo: left sipsi to the left channel, right sipsi to the right • Four sound packs; transpose in semitone steps • Makam scales: Uşşak, Nihavend, plus your own custom scales • Metronome, BPM control and Black Sea time signatures such as 5/8 • Set the shape, size and screen position of every key • Key themes, colour palettes, custom closed-hole layouts • Desktop keyboard mode ▸ A STUDIO IN YOUR POCKET • Reverb, Chorus, Vibrato, Tremolo, Compressor, Ring Modulator, Bit Crusher, Room Simulator, Stereo Widener • Room presets and your own saved effect chains • Record as you play, turn the take into notation, preview it on A4 • Export: .wav · .aac · .mp4 · .mid · .pdf · .txt · .tlm • Send the MIDI file to your DAW or notation software ▸ LEARN AND PLAY ALONG • Playable tunes and folk songs with the notes scrolling as you play • Slow the playback down to work through the hard bars • The Story of the Tulum: a narrated, illustrated history of the instrument ▸ TULUM MIDI CONTROLLER — A WORLD FIRST • A physical controller you hold and finger exactly like a real tulum • Connects over or USB-C; the app recognises it and every key maps one to one • Touch calibration tunes the finger sensitivity to your hands • Entirely optional: the app is fully functional without it.
