Please Let Us Keep Chatting After the Free Limit

I really enjoy using Mistral and find it particularly good for in-depth conversations about creative writing, literature, and history. However, the free message limit is quite restrictive, especially when I’m in the middle of an interesting discussion. I would really appreciate it if, once the free message limit is reached, the app could continue to allow basic text conversations instead of blocking all further messages. For example, it could temporarily disable high-cost features such as image generation and file analysis, or switch users to a lighter model while keeping text chat available. For users who enjoy long, thoughtful conversations, being cut off in the middle of a discussion can be very frustrating. I hope the Mistral team will consider this suggestion. Thank you!

I rarely hit a usage limit, glitch, or slowdown, despite using their app and website many times a day, often in long conversations. The interface feels cluttered sometimes, especially the presence of the voice-to-text icon that I never use, which is close to the Send button. But overall it is a well-built system capable of image generation, image processing, file analysis, data parsing, current events research, and summarizing immense amounts of text (like multi-hour podcast transcripts or digging through literature). A good app, a very good value. ** Since my last edit, the Vibe app defaults to a Chinese LLM by z.ai which was not designed in the EU. I will remove this sentence when Mistral switches it back to in-house modeling. ** I read Mistral’s reply to this review and deleted the comment it referenced, now that it’s fixed.
