Honestly, one of the most disappointing experiences I’ve had with a social app. I joined Nomadtable to meet people, make friends, and attend events together. As a busy professional, I don’t have time to constantly organize activities or coordinate plans with strangers. Instead, I share events I’m already planning to attend, including links and all the details, so others can easily join if they’re interested. Apparently, that’s considered “spam” or “self promotion” by Nomadtable. Seriously? I’m not selling anything, promoting a business, or making money from these events. I’m literally doing what I thought this app was designed for: bringing people together in real life. Meanwhile, I’ve received multiple unsolicited private messages from men who seem more interested in messaging women than actually attending events. Even when I provide clear event details, people still message me privately asking basic questions they could easily answer by reading the post. And somehow, I’M the problem? It’s ridiculous that a platform supposedly built around real life connections would penalize people who are actually making an effort to create them. Rather than encouraging genuine community building, Nomadtable seems more interested in policing people who share activities than addressing the unwanted attention women receive on the app. The warning was unreasonable, the moderation feels completely out of touch, and the whole experience has left me questioning what this platform actually stands for. If you’re looking for genuine friendships and people who actually want to get out and do things, I’d think twice before wasting your time here. What a terrible way to treat users who are genuinely trying to contribute to the community.
