HOW SURE ARE WE
Not in any grossing chart, so this comes from ratings growth (840 new ratings a month on average since launch): revenue grows with new ratings, more slowly for apps that collect ratings fast. Tested on 418 apps with verified revenue: typically off by about 2 times, and big earners tend to come out low. Countries we don't track (and Google Play in China, which doesn't exist) aren't included, and neither are ads or web payments. Gross revenue before store fees.

WHAT THEY COMPLAIN ABOUT · SHARE OF BAD REVIEWS
Price and subscription38%

15 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ my reasoning for not liking it is because anytime i put my stats it keeps asking for a subscription and it doesn't let me use the app without one.
★★★★★ Scanning barcodes hardly ever works and they want to charge $4.99 for this?
★★★★★ If I could request a refund I would.
Wrong or poor results23%

9 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ This is so inaccurate that if I followed it I would fail to hit my goals due to hidden calories entering in on the equivalent of a 300-500 calorie bulk.
★★★★★ It advertises as an easy app to track, the inaccuracy in scanning the bar codes on items is awful. On most item you have to go into the item and change the macros and serving size.
★★★★★ a lot of the stuff i take pictures of its wrong n the calories.
Lost data, sync, backup10%

4 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ After I had used the photo analysis of my food for 3 weeks I lost net 0 weight after losing 20 lbs in about 4 weeks just guessing my calorie intake.
★★★★★ I've installed and deleted this app so many times, and not for the reason you might think.
★★★★★ I have the paid version installed on both iPhone and iPad but entries don't synch so have to enter on each device individually, which is a deal breaker for me.
Bugs, things not working8%

★★★★★ I can not get pass the pro screen when it pops up there is no X anywhere not even when i redownload it it's still not there.
★★★★★ I couldn't get it to accurately scan or manually input anything that I ate. Makes app pointless

WHAT THEY ASK FOR
  • I wish I could've tested this longer before paying for it. 1★, Aug 19, 2026
  • I wish there were a way to manually enter calories or carbs when that happens. 3★, Jul 21, 2026
  • However, I also wish you could edit the ingredients it detects instead of relying entirely on AI, since there's no way for it to accurately know things like what type of oil or other ingredients were used in a meal 3★, Jul 21, 2026
  • i do wish there was a way to add my workouts so i could see how many cals i've lost though. 4★, Jun 2, 2026
  • If anything it would help to add a separate daily water intake By the glass. 5★, May 22, 2026
  • I just wish you can tweak your settings. 4★, Mar 30, 2026
  • It would be even better if it would tell you things you could eat to gain more this or that instead of saying what you need more of because me personally I'm not trying to check every packaging. 5★, Mar 23, 2026
  • I like how I can describe the food but I wish I could just have quick add calories. 2★, Mar 12, 2026

Gross inaccuracy and will sabotage your diet!

We all know taking pictures of food to estimate calories inserts gross inaccuracy but this is from attempting to track calories from entering individual items. This is ChatGPT diet planning circa 2024 levels of inaccuracy. I’m seeing multiple food entries that even when I give the specific brand the nutrition facts are 1/3 off from the actual data. Scanning barcodes hardly ever works and they want to charge $4.99 for this? I set up the free trial due to using the StepsApp and it suggesting I record food here. This is so inaccurate that if I followed it I would fail to hit my goals due to hidden calories entering in on the equivalent of a 300-500 calorie bulk. Simply comparing your food’s nutritional facts to what this app says they are will show you how piss poor the tracking is. There isn’t even an option to manually adjust values to better match what labels say. And they want $4.99/mo annually for this? It’s garbage. Completely garbage. Sure the app looks pretty but the system behind it is more that flawed, it’s sabotage.
