Coffee Notes: Espresso Journal

Performance Improvements

Pull shots that taste amazing — and remember exactly how you made them. Coffee Notes is the espresso journal for home baristas who want to dial in faster, track what works, and stop losing the perfect recipe when a new bag arrives. Whether you’re pulling doubles on a prosumer machine or perfecting pour-overs, Coffee Notes helps you log, learn, and improve — one shot at a time. Meet Beano, your espresso coach Beano reacts to your daily caffeine — sleepy, thriving, buzzed, or jittery — so you can see at a glance whether you’re in the sweet spot. Log a shot and watch him come alive. It’s a fun, visual way to stay mindful of your intake without feeling like a spreadsheet. Log every shot in seconds Track dose, yield, time, grind setting, taste, and notes for espresso and pour-over. Compare shots side by side, spot patterns, and know what to change next — grind finer, pull longer, adjust dose — based on how your coffee actually tasted. Your coffee shelf Keep every bag organized with roaster, origin, roast level, and flavor notes. Scan bag labels with your camera to fill in details automatically. Each bag remembers its own dial-in, so switching beans doesn’t mean starting from scratch. Never lose the perfect recipe Save grinder settings, dose, yield, and shot time per bag. Coffee Notes surfaces your featured bag on the home screen with today’s plan — ready to brew before you forget last week’s winning grind. Community dial-in settings Start from real recipes shared by people using your grinder, machine, and coffee. Browse community settings, apply them to your dial-in, and iterate from there instead of guessing on shot one. Smart brew reminders Set a daily brew time and get a notification with your dial-in settings — grind, dose, yield, and time — so you can pull a great shot without even opening the app. Track caffeine with Apple Health Sync logged shots to Apple Health as dietary caffeine. Optionally connect sleep and activity data to see how your coffee habits relate to how you feel day to day. Siri & Shortcuts Log a shot, check today’s caffeine, open a bag, or ask about your favorite coffee — hands-free with Siri. Stats that help you improve Weekly caffeine charts, pacing insights, shot history, taste breakdowns, and brew streaks unlock as you log. See your habits clearly and pull with more confidence. Coffee Notes Plus Upgrade to Plus to save notes for every shot, store grinder settings, access community dial-ins and the espresso recipes library, and track multiple bags on your shelf.
