Store description
Skida is a ski touring app built for one thing: planning and skiing tours in avalanche terrain. Route, terrain, avalanche forecast, weather and conditions are one tap away, not buried under activities you're not doing.
20,000+ routes from mountain professionals · official avalanche forecasts on the map · community with Camptocamp, PowderGuide, Gipfelbuch and SnowPilot
NEW FOR THE 2026/27 SEASON
• High-resolution 3D terrain, with detail down to 0.5 m in Switzerland, 0.5–5 m in the rest of the Alps, 1–2 m in Scandinavia, 1–5 m in the Pyrenees, 1–10 m in Japan and the USA, 1–5 m in parts of Canada, New Zealand and Australia, and 30 m elsewhere
• Global coverage: avalanche forecasts, observations and map layers in the world's ski touring regions
PLAN YOUR SKI TOUR
• Route suggestions in Norway, Sweden and the Alps of Austria, Switzerland, Italy and France (more regions coming): pick a start and a summit, and Skida draws a line through the terrain in seconds. Suggestions are based on the terrain model, not on the day's avalanche forecast. Check the forecast and choose your line.
• 20,000+ ski touring routes in all regions, drawn by mountain professionals: our team, our partners and route-mapping projects
• Draw your own routes, import GPX files and export routes to GPX
• Save routes in collections, plan trips and bucket lists together in shared collections, and share them with your touring partners
KNOW THE ROUTE
• Interactive elevation profile that marks sections steeper than 30° (potential release areas)
• Aspects, max slope angle, distance, metres up and down, highest and lowest point
• Estimated time up, down and in total
• Observations near the route, directions to the trailhead and alternative routes nearby if plans change
• 3D flyover to read the terrain before you go
• Bookmark and share routes
CHECK THE CONDITIONS
• The official avalanche forecast on the map, and the right forecast for each route. Data from national services such as Varsom (Norway), Lavinprognoser (Sweden) and the Mountain Safety Collective (Australia).
• Weather for the top and the bottom of the route, so you don't check the forecast for the wrong summit or valley
• Long-press any point for avalanche forecast, weather, slope angle, aspect and coordinates, and share the position with friends
• Map layers for slope angle, potential release areas, snow depth and snowfall forecast
• Avalanche runout zones in Norway and Sweden (more areas coming)
COMMUNITY
• Observations and discussions from Skida users, Camptocamp, PowderGuide, Gipfelbuch, Varsom (NVE) and SnowPilot
• Posts shown on the map, so you can see what others report about conditions near your route
• Skida observations are passed on to avalanche forecasting services, so the forecasts get better for everyone
MAPS AND OFFLINE
• Topo, winter and satellite maps worldwide, plus national topographic maps: Norgeskart and TopoSvalbard (Norway), Lantmäteriet (Sweden), swisstopo Landeskarte incl. the winter edition, Austrian Map (BEV), Plan IGN (France), IGN (Spain), Toporama (Canada) and NZ Topo50, with orthophotos for Switzerland (SWISSIMAGE) and Austria
• Offline maps, 3D terrain, slope angle and routes, worldwide
• Connect Garmin and see the tours you've done on the map
Built for ski touring, splitboarding, skimo and freeride in avalanche terrain. The same 3D maps work for hiking all year.
