Newest update prevents you from being able to play and listen to an audiobook/music. I deleted the app to reinstall and lost all my progress and purchases. Latest update not working

This is my favorite game. Prior to this update I can play the game while listening to an audiobook. Now I cannot. Everything is silenced as soon as the app is opened. Please fix it.
