Loop Hero

I love the game and have been sinking an unhealthy amount of time into it. One issue I’ve noticed though is that after closing the game from the town screen after building or upgrading, the changes won’t save. I have to run another loop prior to closing to keep any changes made in town.

For a game that can be played with just one touch, there is nothing more perfect than this for mobile whilst offering such deep and interesting an experience. I passed up this game for a while, for unknown reasons having the wrong impression of it (perhaps partially from the generic name). This is ultimately a strategy game, even really, a board game. What defines this game is that, whilst the hero travels around the board, you must strategically choose what challenges to place in their path, balancing risk and reward to help the hero grow stronger. These challenges are drawn with some degree of randomness that you will influence by your placements. All of the things you can place on the board have (usually hidden) reactions and combinations with each other. I have beaten the game once so far and have not found all the interactions yet. [I see those hints in the credits ;) ] All of this is woven together by a overarching narrative and in-between camp system where, in classic roguelite fashion, you can incrementally improve your chances for success in future rounds. None of this does this game justice. It is such an impressive work and truly something everyone should try.

Like easy to pick up and easy to lose track of time in. I love it. It started really hard for me because I kept trying to push my limit too early but after a few upgrades it feels so worth to risk it all.
