Small app: combines its grossing ranks with ratings growth (340 new ratings a month on average since launch). Tested on 418 apps with verified revenue: typically off by about 2.6 times, so the range is wide. Countries we don't track (and Google Play in China, which doesn't exist) aren't included, and neither are ads or web payments. Gross revenue before store fees.

WHAT THEY COMPLAIN ABOUT · SHARE OF BAD REVIEWS
Price and subscription36%

56 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ I bought a yearly subscription hoping it would function a certain way, but it's useless for my needs.
★★★★★ for 25 dollars a month it's a rip off!!!
★★★★★ I was charged $119 on September 10 for a subscription I never intended to renew.
Bugs, things not working21%

33 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ I'm assuming they're pay to use since the pay window pops up whenever I try accessing but some people learn better when practicing over and over so note don't really help unless it's like a bug in the system because…
★★★★★ It is an absolute NIGHTMARE trying to study flashcards on this app. It's opening other sets while I click one, or will say I completed a set when I haven't even studied it yet. Quizlet will and forever be the GOAT.
★★★★★ I'm trying to learn but instead I have to wait for a dumb bot don't doesn't even properly listen what I need it's to long to buggy and not enjoyable.
Lost data, sync, backup16%

25 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ Due to this I lost access to my favorite study site for my French class.
★★★★★ I canceled it only so it wouldn't auto-renew, but now I've lost access after just a couple of days and it's asking me to purchase again.
★★★★★ I only used knowt for the mcqs, but now that that's gone I have no reason to use the app or website.
Limits, credits, locked features10%

15 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ Why are you telling me I need to pay to use the features after I recorded?
★★★★★ Theoretically there is no limit to the size of flashcard sets, however slightly larger sets (30-100 cards) will cause the app to freeze.
★★★★★ I don't know what's the point of advertising yourself as a free study tool when you have to pay for more AI slop.
No customer support10%

15 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ Terrible customer service and a completely misleading app.
★★★★★ WARNING: THINK TWICE BEFORE SUBSCRIBING TO KNOWT. I was charged $119 on September 10 for a subscription I never intended to renew. I'm only 14 years old, and I genuinely did not mean to spend that much money on a…
★★★★★ Have contacted the support, but got no reaction.
Crashes and freezes8%

13 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ Theoretically there is no limit to the size of flashcard sets, however slightly larger sets (30-100 cards) will cause the app to freeze.
★★★★★ I love the app… however the only reason why I use it for the call with Kai feature. The feature is good at first but then it lags soooo bad and it's so annoying. It's the only reason why I won't pay for the full…
★★★★★ It crashes too much especially during a lecture audio recording!!
Too many ads7%

11 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ This app used to be nice and helpful, but now everything needs to be paid and there are so many ads.
★★★★★ Knowt is horrible I would never recommend it to anyone the continuous ads that disrupt learning is aggravating and such a huge turn away for this site.
★★★★★ built the whole platform off of being the free alternative to quizlet just to cave and become EXACTLY like quizlet - now theres ads on every corner im trying to do my flash cards and my entire screen gets covered by an…
Wrong or poor results7%

11 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ I bought a yearly subscription hoping it would function a certain way, but it's useless for my needs.
★★★★★ You can't even do anything without paying tf😒.
★★★★★ If you're studying for an AP exam this is basically useless.

Amazing

This app is fantastic. It beats any of its competitors and the lack of paywall for great features is why I’m such a consistent user. It’s helped me so much with science topics and I plan to use it throughout med school. Please never change it!

Great study tool, but some issues

I really enjoy the flash card maker and how you can customize your practice tests. However, when you review any wrong or missed questions it seems that there is a glitch every time. It always shows the first test question in green what was right and red what is wrong, but after the first question it doesn’t do it. I’ve also noticed that sometimes it won’t even give you the original options (multiple choice test) when reviewing. It glitches to repeating the same four choices on every review even though the options were different during the actual test. I do wish in the study mode of the flash cards or practice test it would do a follow up test or review of all the ones you’ve missed or starred right after you finish a set. Overall not a bad app, just needs some fixing here and there
