Bugs, things not working33%

3 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ Lots of great content at all different levels for learning, but when trying to use this as a supplement to other methods of learning Spanish, it fails pretty badly with the subtitles.
★★★★★ The app looks really clunky on iPad and full screen doesn't work.
No customer support33%

3 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ As an app, the lack of support for running correctly on iPad is just lazy programming, especially when Apple provide all the tools to program for both the iPhone and iPad at the same time.
★★★★★ btw, if you're going to kill your website, at least make a really good app instead of launching half baked with critical features missing like fullscreen viewing or tablet support.
★★★★★ This app has 10/10 content, but the lack of Picture-in-Picture support on iPhone is a major drawback.

WHAT THEY ASK FOR
  • I like the content but I wish there was a way to play videos while my phone is locked, so that I don't need to keep the app open 4★, Sep 16, 2026
  • My only gripe is I wish I could comment on the videos or have a community chat within the app and not just on YouTube or on the website. 5★, Aug 18, 2026
  • It would be nice to have it work well for iPads too. 3★, Aug 16, 2026
  • Would yall be able to add more kid friendly super beginner and beginner videos to your play list? 5★, Jul 20, 2026
  • It would be great if a simple number next to the video could be added to show me how many I have completed and how many I have left to watch based on my filter choices. 5★, Jun 4, 2026
  • the only thing that i wish they would do differently is i wish they had english subtitles so i can understand what im listening to because half the time i may lose the story or have a couple different phrases that… 5★, May 8, 2026

WHAT THEY LOVE · SHARE OF GOOD REVIEWS
Fun, addictive24%

19 of the 4 and 5 star reviews.

★★★★★ Overall though a fun way to learn a new language.
★★★★★ Great app for learning and really enjoying it so far but my only gripe is I'll watch videos, go off the app and when I go back on, my watch time will go from 55 mins down to 20 for example.
★★★★★ It is simple to find out what level you can begin but in general, all you do is watch the content that your enjoy and understand.
Easy to use22%

17 of the 4 and 5 star reviews.

★★★★★ Without any prior Spanish learning, I can actually say that I understand the (albeit easy) videos I'm watching whereas before they would've just sounded like noise.
★★★★★ ("How am I feeling today" or dinosaurs?) I realize beginners need easy basic content but maybe a bit more subjects that adults can appreciate.
★★★★★ I've been blown away with all of the resources in the app and how easy it is to consume interesting content!
Useful, it helps10%

★★★★★ I had been stuck in other apps learning vocab. It wasn't what I needed to get to real daily conversations. Three weeks of daily videos (one or two) and I had already started dreaming in Spanish. The best part, my…
★★★★★ They have French and I hope they continue to add other languages as it's a game changer.
★★★★★ I hope these suggestions are useful
Worth the money9%

7 of the 4 and 5 star reviews.

★★★★★ With so much free content to start with you should definitely give it a shot.
★★★★★ Premium is totally worth it to me not only for casting to TV but thousands of extra videos episode
★★★★★ The paid version is not required but so worth it & a great way to support the professors/content creators!!!!
Accurate, great results5%

4 of the 4 and 5 star reviews.

★★★★★ I also love seeing the improvements in video quality over the years as I watch a mix of older and newer videos.
★★★★★ i have used the dreaming spanish web version for months and had the beta version of the app, now the full version of the app is live, it works great, especially when travelling as you can save videos to the app to work…

Perfect app

I use this app daily to learn spanish.

★★★★★Oct 7, 2026
So glad I found it

This methodology for learning Spanish has completely changed my expectations for learning a new language! I used to think it would be impossible for me to stick to it, but I have now watched over 50 hours of videos in just over a month. Without any prior Spanish learning, I can actually say that I understand the (albeit easy) videos I’m watching whereas before they would’ve just sounded like noise. With so much free content to start with you should definitely give it a shot.

Great app

Great app and website, the video tracking is very consistent. Like others said, the ability to use the app in landscape mode would be a big plus!

Needs subtitles

As a beginner, it would be helpful to see the words in both Spanish and English. Just hearing the words and not having any clue how they are spelled or written out makes it very difficult to learn.

Dreaming French

I've only been doing Dreaming French for a couple of weeks and so far so good. I've had no tech issues at all. I love that not only do they keep track of my progress, but they also allow me to add content that is comprehensible input but from outside sources. Only thing I don't like is that I find the content a touch childish. ("How am I feeling today" or dinosaurs?) I realize beginners need easy basic content but maybe a bit more subjects that adults can appreciate. Overall though a fun way to learn a new language.
