HOW SURE ARE WE
Not in any grossing chart, so this comes from ratings growth (33 new ratings a month on average since launch): revenue grows with new ratings, more slowly for apps that collect ratings fast. Tested on 418 apps with verified revenue: typically off by about 2 times, and big earners tend to come out low. Countries we don't track (and Google Play in China, which doesn't exist) aren't included, and neither are ads or web payments. Gross revenue before store fees.

WHAT THEY COMPLAIN ABOUT · SHARE OF BAD REVIEWS
Wrong or poor results21%

37 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ Accuracy matters it's my family's health.
★★★★★ Such a big delay in the data updating renders the app basically useless.
★★★★★ There is visible smoke in the air actually reducing visibility, my wife is coughing and choking from an asthma attack but this app insists the air quality is good. The other weather apps and even the news is saying…
Worse after an update17%

31 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ Sent you an email regarding the issue. You didn't responded. The air quality is stuck at 55 since last month's. Thats abnormal.
★★★★★ Updated to ios16.4 and now my saved locations disappear after closing.
★★★★★ An update happened and now my app won't open!
Bugs, things not working12%

22 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ App on the Apple Watch has a pollen complication that doesn't work if you walk away from the iPhone it's paired to, even if you have a cellular Apple Watch.
★★★★★ 每次一更新，都会从自选的标准自动切换回中国标准，敢情空气质量标准还要讲究正确？每次发现都有被欺骗感......
★★★★★ you still do ad stuff and sell broken iot devices?
Crashes and freezes10%

★★★★★ Crashes upon opening… been three days…
★★★★★ Open on Ipad Immediately crashes Cannot use this app
★★★★★ Good info, but crashes too much.
Price and subscription5%

9 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ Later, perhaps feeling the revenue was too low, the developers removed the app, renamed it, and re-released it, switching to a subscription model.
★★★★★ Cancelled subscription after a 500% price increase.
★★★★★ When I bought my philips air scrubber, little did I know that this app was the only chance to interact with the overpriced and underperforming appliance.
Lost data, sync, backup5%

9 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ When I deleted a current location and brought it back, no bar graph.
★★★★★ Unreliable data = deleted.
★★★★★ I downloaded this app for the pollen complications which worked for a few days than disappeared.
No customer support4%

7 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ Most concise UI, excellent customer service, but, the reports are 3 hours behind.
★★★★★ I've asked the App, but no response yet.
★★★★★ I emailed support over a week ago and never heard back.
Too many ads3%

5 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ Previously, it was a buy-to-play model, where a single payment exempted users from ads.
★★★★★ To add insult to injury I am forced to pay on top of the price of the already overpriced philips cleaner to remove ads.
★★★★★ Do not use this app, it's just using fake data to sell ads.
WHAT THEY ASK FOR
  • If the pollen count in this app made sense, it would be great because it does work with Apple Watch. 3★, Mar 31, 2025

  • To improve: I would love to see some more pollen data in the app in my current area (Israel), which seems to be incomplete. 5★, Jul 7, 2020
  • It's a nice looking app but I need accurate pollen levels so I will look for another app. 2★, Apr 30, 2019

WHAT THEY LOVE · SHARE OF GOOD REVIEWS

★★★★★ Clean readible app that not only provides data, but also recommends actions to take based on the data.

Not an honest calculation of air quality

In Zarinsk, the air is polluted by the Altai-coke plant and the rating that your program writes is completely different from reality.
