HOW SURE ARE WE
Not in any grossing chart, so this comes from ratings growth (17 new ratings a month on average since launch): revenue grows with new ratings, more slowly for apps that collect ratings fast. Tested on 418 apps with verified revenue: typically off by about 2 times, and big earners tend to come out low. Countries we don't track (and Google Play in China, which doesn't exist) aren't included, and neither are ads or web payments. Gross revenue before store fees.

WHAT THEY COMPLAIN ABOUT · SHARE OF BAD REVIEWS
Price and subscription30%

19 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ I did pay full price for this app when it came out, which was quite a bit to pay for an app that many years ago.
★★★★★ Too old, no updates and expensive for what it offers.
★★★★★ There are much better apps for less money, don't buy it just because it has the Korg name.
Worse after an update14%

9 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ All of the Kaossilators have a gate Arp -except this app -which I have owned since day one and I have contacted Korg at least 15 times regarding this and have updated my review many times.
★★★★★ Appears it hasn't been updated in a while.
★★★★★ There are issues with the UI since the Apple update.
No customer support11%

7 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ No landscape or iPad support.
★★★★★ Great app, but without landscape support it is useless to me.
★★★★★ Please add more SOUND PACKS, support for modern iOS features, and as another reviewer mentioned a GRID overlay or something to play notes with more accuracy.
Wrong or poor results9%

6 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ Don't get me wrong- Kaossilators are all touch screen so it isn't a huge leap for a touch device and they pulled it off well except for the arp.
★★★★★ Great app, but without landscape support it is useless to me.
★★★★★ Please add more SOUND PACKS, support for modern iOS features, and as another reviewer mentioned a GRID overlay or something to play notes with more accuracy.
Bugs, things not working8%

5 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ This app is bugging out and does not want to output headphone audio on my iPhone 13 mini with iOS 17. Appears it hasn't been updated in a while. But apple won't show you this review…
★★★★★ The loop length also doesn't work any more either- it only records 16 beats even if you have it set to 32 or 64.
★★★★★ This works but it is all skewed and I can't change the sounds I pick and the kaos pad sometimes doesn't work will change back to 5 after, please Korg I am a loyal customer who owns a lot of your hardware please fix…
Missing features8%

5 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ My kids want to use this but there is no way to disable the overly flashy visuals.
★★★★★ Korg, this app is dying on the vine. Please add more SOUND PACKS, support for modern iOS features, and as another reviewer mentioned a GRID overlay or something to play notes with more accuracy. This app was great when…
★★★★★ ...but there is no way to import sounds.
Crashes and freezes3%

2 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ I've made some great loops but recently on the iPhone 6/s the app can't handle too much tapping and crashes after minutes of using.
Limits, credits, locked features3%

2 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ And not for someone looking for an interesting app to help push their creative limits.
★★★★★ Where this app really suffers is its dependence on a very limited number of samples/sounds/loops.

Fun, addictive19%

★★★★★ Wouldn't it be fun to freshen this app up?
★★★★★ I've had countless hours of fun making music and mixing the pre-recorded tracks.
★★★★★ You will have so much fun making songs, you will wonder why people think music is difficult.
Easy to use10%

40 of the 4 and 5 star reviews.

★★★★★ There is nothing, NOTHING, more intuitive, more fluid, and more fun for jamming out and putting songs together via software.
★★★★★ Like other reviews have said it's not incredibly intuitive but once you play around with the app for an hour or so it's a lot of fun and a generated some great ideas.
★★★★★ It does take an hour or 2 of messing around to get it, but once you get how to mute parts, clear parts, and simplify parts quickly, this becomes a fun idea generator. Also learn how to turn off quantizing. For fun, I…

★★★★★ 手軽にループが作れてデザインやUIも洗練されているのに、未だに画面が16:9比率なのとiOS6当時のApple提供UIなのは非常に惜しいと思います…
★★★★★ The user interface is really dated and sometime hard to figure things out.
★★★★★ The touch screen interface is one of the best innovations of music technology

Useful, it helps3%

10 of the 4 and 5 star reviews.

★★★★★ I have been having an itch but I rely on other people right now to have instruments to play, this really helps.
★★★★★ I got this because I was looking for some deep bass sounds to insert into my live show. The bass sounds ended up being okayish, but there are enough sounds in here that there's a strong chance everyone will find some…
★★★★★ My band plays all sorts of genres & this app helps with any prog, experimental, industrial, electronic, and any other genres you feel could use a boundary check.

Best musical instrument ever made

Ayo korg! Wouldn’t it be fun to freshen this app up? Nobody has even come close to this level of dankness in an instrument since 😮‍💨

★★★★★Aug 31, 2026

Best app ever imo and it still works. I’ve had countless hours of fun making music and mixing the pre-recorded tracks. Only thing is I wish they still made sound packs I would buy them all

The best app ever

I’ve had this app for close to 10 years and It has solved so many problems for me. Sometimes I perform with just this app, sometimes I use it to handle my ADHD, and sometimes it’s just nice to be able to make some music spontaneously.
