Genial, aber mit Macken

Diese App ist und bleibt für mich eine geniale Entdeckung! Das Zeichenüben macht so einfach viel mehr Spaß. Ich habe sie mehreren Freunden empfohlen und schon einiges Geld bei trainchinese gelassen, daher etwas Kritik hier: - Die Schreiberkennung variiert stark. Bei bestimmten Strichen ist sie super penibel, sodass es als Fehler gilt, sogar wenn ich richtig aber eben schnell geschrieben habe. Bei anderen ist sie total schlampig, sodass es als richtig gilt, obwohl ich einen komplett anderen Strich gemacht habe. Das demotiviert nach einer Weile leider sehr! Vor allem, weil man ja auf Zeit spielt und da jede Sekunde zählt. - Die Punktevergabe ist strange. Im einfachen Modus, in dem man das Zeichen schon vor dem Schreiben sieht, bekommt man mehr Punkte als im harten Modus, in dem man sich komplett selbst an das Zeichen erinnern muss. Das liegt nur am "Aussprache-Bonus". - Besser wäre ein Algorithmus, der sich auf häufig falsche Zeichen konzentriert und immer richtige vernachlässigt. Oder eine automatisch erstellte Gruppe häufig falsch geschriebene Zeichen. - Schön wäre es, nicht nur einzelne Zeichen zu üben, sondern ganze Wörter aus mehreren Zeichen zu schreiben, denn nachgewiesenerweise lernt man durch die Verknüpfung nachhaltiger. Wenn diese Punkte verbessert würden, könnte die App noch mehr überzeugen!

Best character app ever

If you can spend an hour a day playing games on your smart phone, then you will learn your characters quickly with this app. It’s just like a game. This is my new favourite game with the huge bonus that it improves my real life. This was desperately missing in my Chinese language learning mission. Thank you so much for this!

Perfect for stroke order practise!

With this app practising stroke order of chinese characters literally becomes a game. Yet, you can also chose the „practise mode“ in which you either trace characters or write them. There‘s an abundance of characters available and the User Interface is well thought out and easy on the eyes. All in all it‘s a really great app for chinese learners.

Good, but missing important functions

I like to use this app for practice and remember lots of characters but two important points must get better with an update: 1) currently full packs are only possible to learn with traditional characters. When switching to simplified, many characters will not be trained. This is a pity, as in china mainland you will see only simplified chars and will never recognize when just possible to learn with this app the traditional chars... When selecting simplified I expect to see all chars in training, and not just a small subset... 2) this is not that important now, but other apps are providing that... the writer training provides just "typewriter" characters (hard strokes), the written character Fonts would be more nice. When I write the chars from this app, my Chinese teacher sometimes says, a real unusual handwriting I create, as everything is very hard and not smoothly written. So something to improve in this app esp. when I need to pay so much for it. Afterwards I'm willing to give my full recommendation.
