I’ve always enjoyed playing and using this app, but recently the ads are overwhelming. Today there was one in particular that was directing me to download a different Sudoku app saying that this one has been updated, but it was clearly a different developer. Need to fix this.
Used to be a company I liked supporting. Their games were always clean and tight. I’ve downloaded and bought several of them. Unfortunately this sudoku one sucks now. Something changed. It has an ad on the screen throughout the entire gameplay, which was always fine. I understand that ads bring in revenue. But now there’s an ad just for opening the app and one at the start of every new game and/or the finish of every game. And they’re not quick ads! They take A LONG TIME! 🙄 And most of them you have to interact with otherwise it just sits there. You’re forced to click a link then close the link then go back to the game. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. It’s truly disgusting how soulless these developers have become. It’s like they’re purposely making or allowing ads to be more and more frustrating in the hopes that people just pay outright for the app. But the problems is the apps aren’t just a few bucks anymore. Technology has gotten better. Processing has gotten faster. AI can do much of the coding now. All of which equals less overhead. And yet apps and games get more and more expensive. $15 for a Sudoku game on my phone?? Get over yourself. Delusions of grandeur mixed with soullessness and greed. Seems like the direction everything is going these days.
The ad plays forever, with no seeming way to get past it. The ad wants you to go to the store and buy their game. If you don’t go to the store, no Sudoku for you. I was ok with a 10 second ad. I’m not ok with a forever ad or an ad that forces me to interact with it. Avoid this version of Sudoku. The game used to be good with some great features. But if you can’t play it, good features mean nothing.
