Used to be good, going in the wrong direction.

This app used to be good but has been having stability issues and bugs more often. Additionally, the direction of the app is bad. Buying a house is harder with the current app as they prioritize useless AI conversations and irrelevant videos rather than the simple things. Make retirement homes and share houses go away when searching or a separate search we obviously don’t want that. Why cannot you see the total floor area of an apartment / townhome? It’s 2026, crazy this isn’t available. It would be one field for the agent to enter. If i want to share a collection with my wife , i have to give her my account, can’t believe there is no way to share in 2026 since most people transaction as couples. The video thing makes no sense. Also they could make realestate a more trustworthy experience by moving the needle forward on requiring a price on each listing but instead they don’t. The #1 question “what is this property worth” is not answered unless you go do your research elsewhere. Instead of one star giving 2 because the finger map feature is cool (although not being able to save is super annoying).

Inconsistent

The app won’t hide properties, despite marking them as “hide.” That means you are forever trying to weed through properties you know you don’t want. Sometimes properties don’t show up on the app until you google them and then click on the realestate.com.au link. Then it opens the property in the app and voila, it’s there. It would be great if these bugs were fixed so that the app is usable.

Studios listed under 1 bedroom

As if it’s not hard enough to find an apartment. Should it Not be legal for estate agents to list studios as one bedroom apartments? If I choose to only see one bedroom apartments why the fxk do I need to wade through a bunch of studios which are only apparent when I read the description. What a bunch of scum!

App no longer works

The app had been really good until three days ago, when I was apparently logged out. That shouldn’t really be an issue, for most apps and websites, but this app won’t allow me to log back in using my password. Instead the app says it’s sending a code to my email account, but then it doesn’t. Many attempts over several days, no code. And yes I’ve checked my spam. There isn’t any way to have the code sent to a mobile or different email account, there’s no one to chat with for help, there’s nothing apart from using the other big real estate app, which doesn’t work as smoothly but at least it works right now, which is way more than I can say for realestate.com.au.
