WHAT THEY ASK FOR
  • Also getting my exact aircraft type and performance data has been hard and still now rite I have a Cessna P210N and I wish there were one I could just import the data from and make minor changes. 3★, Sep 7, 2026
  • That would be nice to have. 5★, Aug 13, 2026
  • The only thing I miss from ForeFlight is the Takeoff and Landing distance feature, so it would be nice to have this in the future. 5★, May 10, 2026
  • I also wish there was a tracker for cert or rating progress. 4★, Jan 17, 2026
  • You need a Garmin EIS capability in your panel to do this, but wow, it is worth it. 5★, Sep 20, 2025

  • We need an airport comment section for users (like on ForeFlight). 5★, May 3, 2025

39 of the 4 and 5 star reviews.

★★★★★ It's easy to use and helps simplify flying in coordination with the built-in Garmin avionics.
★★★★★ The pricing is very reasonable and I like that there are only 2 pricing tiers, which makes things simple.
★★★★★ Other features like weight & balance are well integrated into flight planning and easy to use.
Looks great12%

24 of the 4 and 5 star reviews.

★★★★★ I mostly appreciate the fact that Garmin Pilot is the same interface as the Garmin equipped aircraft I fly, be it the GNS 430, or the G1000.
★★★★★ The app is very user friendly.
★★★★★ The fix is simple - when then pilot completes preflight and briefing and clicks FLY or Navigate mode, the HMI interface of the software should become exactly like the GNS.
Useful, it helps8%

★★★★★ I flew in the days without EFBs, and using Garmin Pilot is a game changer.
★★★★★ It's a great and useful app.

★★★★★ I tried Garmin Pilot during the 30 day free trial period and I was blown away: Smart Charts is so much better than Dynamic Procedures and, after using Garmin Pilot for a few weeks, I have found other great features…
★★★★★ Great app, my school provides subscriptions for free which has really enhanced my training.
★★★★★ Garmin keeps coming up with new features for this program and generally it is bug free.

Degraded Functionality

I’ve been using Garmin Pilot since early 2024. I haven’t really had issues up until the update before Oshkosh, when the flights page was introduced. It is both downgrade in functionality and unnecessary features. If you fly in the DC SFRA you can no longer select an altitude in hundreds of feet. I have emailed support various time and as of today this issue isn’t rectified. Various issues plague the app and it doesn’t feel polished. If you still have the “trip planning” page do not update. If you are looking for an EFB ,strongly consider other options at this time.

App closing

I am normally a huge Garmin fan but am having a lot of issues with the app. My app is force closing on me and I can’t open it at times without deleting it and reinstalling

Still falling behind ForeFlight

If you want CFI’s to recommend your product, make it user friendly. I can’t log or track TAA time. If I wanted to calculate it manually, I’d just use a paper logbook.

takes times to load map

grey map only gets loaded i have to close the apps couple of time to get the real map and the terrain features . there was no such problem with the app previously but i am experiencing it from few month now …

From a serious cockpit tool to an unreliable mess

I’ve used Garmin Pilot extensively as a professional pilot and CFII, and I fly behind Garmin avionics. Unfortunately, the app has deteriorated badly. Features that previously worked reliably have disappeared or become unreliable. Amended ATC clearances no longer consistently populate as they once did, syncing between devices is problematic, and the Flights section has become frustratingly unreliable. There are also bizarre flight-planning issues, such as baggage being interpreted as additional occupants when filing IFR. These aren’t requests for fancy new features. Basic functionality that professional pilots depend on has regressed. Garmin makes outstanding aviation hardware. Garmin Pilot should be held to the same standard. Right now, it isn’t.

Here are some things

When I file a IFR plan if my airport doesn’t stars with a K then it just says ZZZZZ on my flight plans and if at doesn’t catch it in the details they can reject the flight plans. Also getting my exact aircraft type and performance data has been hard and still now rite I have a Cessna P210N and I wish there were one I could just import the data from and make minor changes. My plane burns 20 gph and I still don’t think I have the default fuel burn set rite

Flight planning, charts, interactive maps, weather briefing resources and navigation capabilities; it’s all included. The app’s intuitive interface mirrors those on the newest Garmin touchscreen avionics so you can go seamlessly from preflight to inflight. Plan Garmin Pilot’s powerful capabilities start with pre-flight planning, providing pilots with the most comprehensive aviation weather information to make better-informed flight decisions. Add text-based weather widgets and use the exclusive NavTrack feature to view weather along the planned route. File With Garmin Pilot, users can easily enter a flight plan and interactively edit it on the map. Pre-loaded forms make it quick to save and reuse data for frequently flown routes.
