Version 2.0 is a complete rewrite, seventeen years after 1.0. Everything you used GeoCorder for still works the way it did: press record, and get a GPX file with time stamps. Around that, almost everything is new. RECORDING • Every fix is stored with GPS altitude, barometric altitude, speed, course and its horizontal and vertical accuracy. • Activities are detected automatically: walking, running, cycling and driving are told apart by the motion coprocessor, the track is labelled when you stop, and mixed outings show their legs on a strip. Older tracks and imports can be tagged from the last seven days of history. • Mark spots along the way with a name and note; they become GPX waypoints. • A Live Activity on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island shows distance, time and climb while you record. • Recording survives the app being killed: the track is recovered on the next launch. • The accuracy graph is back, one mark per fix, so you can see when GPS is guessing. • The place you are at and the current weather are shown as you record, and saved with the track. YOUR TRACKS • A library with a drawing of each path, search, notes and activity types. • Maps coloured by speed or elevation, statistics, an elevation profile and a speed chart with a scrubber that moves a marker on the map. • Weather along the track, hour by hour. • Import GPX files from Files, Mail or AirDrop. The Apple Watch app starts, pauses and stops the recording on your iPhone, marks a waypoint where you stand, and shows time, distance and climb at a glance; a complication puts it on your watch face.
