HOW SURE ARE WE
Small app: combines its grossing ranks with ratings growth (42 new ratings a month on average since launch). Tested on 418 apps with verified revenue: typically off by about 2.6 times, so the range is wide. Countries we don't track (and Google Play in China, which doesn't exist) aren't included, and neither are ads or web payments. Gross revenue before store fees.

5 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ As of iOS 26.5 cannot load it; all attempts fail to materialize app start page
★★★★★ 'Radio' shows glitch and don't reappear when you delete and try to re download.
★★★★★ A heads up to others: using this app constantly causes my iPhone to lock up and soft reboot. I've uninstalled and reinstalled it a number of times and it's the same issue. The content of the app is good, but it ain't…
Worse after an update28%

5 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ App wouldn't update on iPhone 8, after working for months.
★★★★★ With every update they make it worse.
★★★★★ I haven't seen an update for this app in years despite all the new OSs that have been released.

4 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ As of iOS 26.5 cannot load it; all attempts fail to materialize app start page
★★★★★ I love this app,when it works!Keeps crashing,please fix😔
★★★★★ I've been listening to LBC for over 30 years and live in the US now and the only way to listen is online because this app crashes the minute your phone locks.
Lost data, sync, backup11%

2 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ Deleted app, restarted, and tried re-downloading and now it won't download.
★★★★★ Sadly the evil people at either lbc or who wrote this app have decided that either they don't want me to listen to lbc or they don't want me to sleep - WHERE HAS SLEEP MODE GONE.
WHAT THEY ASK FOR
  • I would love to see some improvement on that front. 5★, Oct 30, 2019

WORDS THAT KEEP COMING UP IN BAD REVIEWS

Nothing stands out.

WHAT THEY LOVE · SHARE OF GOOD REVIEWS
Accurate, great results9%

3 of the 4 and 5 star reviews.

★★★★★ Download function works well, sometimes (for no apparent reason - having sufficient connection) 'buffering' is an issue, although one would think that should be a thing of the past in 2019.
★★★★★ I wanted to hear more from Olly Mann because I really like him and Helen on their podcast. I think he is really good with the listeners and has a very natural feel on the show. I have found that I am now listening in…
Fun, addictive6%

2 of the 4 and 5 star reviews.

★★★★★ I absolutely love listening to LBC as there is proper balance and the presenters (right now, most of them) are level headed...you get to hear everything from left and everything from right...I lived in London, moved to…

Great app but…

… Any chance of Apple Watch owners to access radio where they have the eSIM capability?

★★★★★Aug 3, 2025
Absolute Garbage

Some shows don’t even get uploaded as podcasts any more. ‘Radio’ shows glitch and don’t reappear when you delete and try to re download. If Nick Abbot was available anywhere else I’d never touch this app ever again.

Real life

For several years I have come to depend on LBS and favourite commentators to keep me up to date with cultural and political life in the UK. People who call in or who are interviewed include as broad a span of English society as Chaucer gives us in the Canterbury Tales.

.

James O’Brien and Nick Abbot alone are enough to give LBC 5 stars.
