Pelican: Automotive assistant

▶ Cameras on the map Pelican now shows speed cameras, red light cameras and license plate readers on the map, for free, where local laws allow. ▶ Drag-and-drop widgets Hold any widget on the map to open the new editor. Drop widgets into any zone, and tap one to set its size and behavior. Stock widgets are used until your car has a tuned kit. ▶ Dashboards and head unit mode Dashboards are full screens of widgets you can place anywhere, with separate layouts for portrait and landscape. Turn your phone sideways for head unit mode, which shows the map and your dashboards. ▶ Speed widget The speed widget shows your current speed next to the posted limit. The new widget can show speeds from OBD or GPS, and can be trimmed up to match your speedometer. ▶ Also new • The gearshift button on the map changes map style, The Fog, navigation engine, voice guidance and the current car, on the phone and in CarPlay • The phone map can darken at twilight and lighten at dawn • Search collapses into a button, results are numbered, and the map dims while you search • Tag a Home and a Work address • Train voice search to understand phrases it otherwise hears wrong • Place sheets now let you use Look Around to see the place at street level • Signs and distances follow the country you are driving in • Left-handed mode • Wildfires have their own symbol and more detail • Steadier fuel gauge readings on hills and rough roads • Up to twice the OBD throughput on cars that allow it • Added an ECU latency panel, commands and parameter reads per minute, and which scanner recorded the session ▶ Fixes • Roundabout guidance keeps the exit instruction until you are out • Fixed bug where alternate routes weren't appearing • Fixed bug where Apple Watch was not syncing data over iCloud • Fixed bug where tapping the "OBD parameter update" notification didn't open the list of new parameters • Fixed bug where the lock screen widget's vehicle picker ignored taps.
