Price and subscription79%

11 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ Year subscription and can't do anything about it!
★★★★★ Then the obstacle course to actually go through with subscription cancellation is just scam tactics.
★★★★★ I was deciding between this and speechify, and I did end up going with listening because of the lower price.
Crashes and freezes43%

Bugs, things not working29%

4 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ Randomly pauses as it's reading, even if you download the document, but it keeps going as soon as you click the next word so clearly it's not a buffering issue, just a bug.
★★★★★ The technology itself is great, the app glitching is infuriating.
★★★★★ This ap is incredibly glitchy, periodically does not open at all and frequently has errors in uploading simple documents.
Login and account problems14%

2 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ I always think of my grandparents with things like this - hoping they never sign up for these manipulative platforms 😔
★★★★★ As soon as I log in, it starts to load my account (I can usually see it for a half second) and the flashes back to the front page with the message “subscription required.” Since I have a subscription and it's clearly…
Wrong or poor results14%

★★★★★ The phone app doesn't actually play anything. It just spins and spins and spins forever. The desktop app will actually play sometimes, but I could just use the free built in reader in Edge for that. I bought this app…

Incredible App

Listening is truly an incredible app. It makes it so easy for me to listen to my textbooks, which is necessary since I have pretty bad ADHD and learn best from listening. It completely changed my ability to handle my masters and economics program.. I thought that I wouldn’t need it after I graduated, but I am still using it to listen to webpages, Reddit Post, emails, and all sorts of other things that I otherwise wouldn’t be able to comprehend completely.

★★★★★Sep 15, 2026
