While I understand the need for verification, the experience made me feel as though my identity was being questioned. I cannot say whether this was based on my appearance, but it certainly left me feeling that way. Transgender women come in different appearances and are at different stages of their journeys. A platform dedicated to our community should approach these conversations with sensitivity and compassion. After submitting my photograph, I was surprised to receive a message asking whether I identify as a man or a transgender woman, despite having already selected transgender woman on my profile. I understand that verification is important, but this experience made me feel uncomfortable and questioned. It left me wondering whether my appearance influenced the way my identity was being assessed. I joined this platform because I believed it was a safe and welcoming community for transgender women, regardless of where they are in their transition. I hope you understand that not every transgender woman presents or looks the same, and that our identities deserve equal respect.
