HOW SURE ARE WE
Not in any grossing chart, so this comes from ratings growth (16 new ratings a month on average since launch): revenue grows with new ratings, more slowly for apps that collect ratings fast. Tested on 418 apps with verified revenue: typically off by about 2 times, and big earners tend to come out low. Countries we don't track (and Google Play in China, which doesn't exist) aren't included, and neither are ads or web payments. Gross revenue before store fees.

WHAT THEY COMPLAIN ABOUT · SHARE OF BAD REVIEWS
Price and subscription76%

63 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ ANSI, VT220, xterm terminal emulation fails with corrupted screens even in simple stuff like top, control-c kills the entire connection instead of sending interrupt, that was enough for me, canceled subscription.
★★★★★ There is no “Free trial.” There is no $9.99 version.
★★★★★ It says it's a free trial but it attempts to charge.
No customer support13%

11 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ Skip this app and just use Moshi, a much better experience and they won't rip you off.
★★★★★ I'm in the middle of production server support, and I've already spent too much time trying to figure out how to make this product work.
★★★★★ DO NOT THROW YOUR MONEY AWAY AND SUPPORT DEVELOPERS WITH A SHRED OF INTEGRITY.

★★★★★ ANSI, VT220, xterm terminal emulation fails with corrupted screens even in simple stuff like top, control-c kills the entire connection instead of sending interrupt, that was enough for me, canceled subscription.
★★★★★ A whole year almost passed and the bug with the traffic light window buttons on iPadOS 26 still not been fixed.
★★★★★ It might seem clever to avoid traditional GUI controls in favor of keyboard shortcuts, but it doesn't work in practice.
Worse after an update8%

7 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ Update: Thank you for your response, if I had known about the changes, I would certainly have “taken the time”.
★★★★★ Reading some of the other comments I'm seeing the devs suggest continuing to use the old version unsupported, or build the new version from source since its open source.
★★★★★ Hadn't gotten on in a while, and I come back to a forced update telling me I must pay a subscription for an ssh service.
Limits, credits, locked features6%

5 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ I really hope I can do that before I need to pay next year's terminal rent.
★★★★★ It allowed me to do everything I needed to do on a limited platform.
★★★★★ After getting a new one, now I return to find you have to pay whatever option you pick.
Lost data, sync, backup6%

5 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ Can't restore blink classic on new device.
★★★★★ "RESTORE PURCHASES" doesn't work.
★★★★★ I hadn't used this thing in ages but I wanted to sync my iPad to work in my simpler remote projects.
Wrong or poor results4%

3 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ COMPLETELY USELESS APP unless you are looking for a gateway to a paid product.
★★★★★ Blink is totally useless now.
★★★★★ After “migration” from the excellent Blink 14, this app is inoperable — “lifetime” purchase promises notwithstanding, it won't SSH, and is useless to me.
Missing features2%

2 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ There is no way to use the app for free.
★★★★★ My issue was with VSCode integration and the complete lack of error reporting if you don't format your remote path correctly.
WHAT THEY ASK FOR
  • It would be nice to have a way to highlight and copy a long prompt, rather than pinch to zoom out. 4★, Jul 6, 2026
  • If you need to have a subscription to continue development, that's fine. 1★, Jun 15, 2025
  • Taking away an app I already paid for because you wanted to add a subscription to continue supporting it is pretty shady. 1★, Jun 3, 2024
  • Please bring one-time purchases back! 4★, Jan 24, 2024
  • All I do with this app is SSH to servers in my local network and do not need any of the 'advanced' crap the subscription is supposed to offer. 1★, Aug 16, 2023
  • I paid in full for the app in 2020 and I should have been grandfathered. 1★, Apr 17, 2023
  • I do wish they also auto-completed for ssh-copy-id to make setup easier but that shouldn't be an issue long term. 1★, Oct 5, 2022

WHAT THEY LOVE · SHARE OF GOOD REVIEWS
Great support14%

8 of the 4 and 5 star reviews.

★★★★★ Mosh support is the killer feature to me.
★★★★★ Active developer, new features, and support for Family share makes this a no brained for anyone looking for a ssh+mosh capable app.
★★★★★ While I don't personally have the need for Blink Build, nor do I use Blink Code, I'm happy to support a team that makes such a great app.
Easy to use8%

5 of the 4 and 5 star reviews.

★★★★★ This has been so easy to use, and I can't believe the features that it offers!
★★★★★ Very fast and easy to use.
★★★★★ Perfectly simple and yet remarkably complex.
Accurate, great results8%

5 of the 4 and 5 star reviews.

★★★★★ The VSCode integration works well too however using neovim/tmux on the MacBook via Mosh is my preferred flow.
★★★★★ It's a solid setup and everything works well with keyboards, etc.
★★★★★ Polished, does exactly what I need, and worth every penny. The annual subscription is a steal for a tool I use this often.
Worth the money8%

5 of the 4 and 5 star reviews.

★★★★★ Polished, does exactly what I need, and worth every penny.
★★★★★ It makes it hard to recommend to interested friends or colleagues when there isn't a free option or a one-time purchase option.
★★★★★ I have downloaded all the free terminals and they are… terminal; sure to die soon from lack of developer support or functionality.
Useful, it helps7%

★★★★★ Then I discovered more useful features, like local vim editor and port forwarding.
★★★★★ This app is very useful and I think it's greate.

Terrible compatibility

ANSI, VT220, xterm terminal emulation fails with corrupted screens even in simple stuff like top, control-c kills the entire connection instead of sending interrupt, that was enough for me, canceled subscription. One of the worst term emulators I’ve seen and that is saying something.

Excellent remote shell and terminal networking tools

This is the best ssh, terminal, ping, etc tools set I’ve used on iPad. Easy to use. Full features for everything I need to log in to my home machines (I connect via tailscale) and work remotely. It has saved me many times already when VNC has gone wonky or the network is too slow.

★★★★★Sep 5, 2026
New release - regressions

The new rendering engine or session management appeared to have introduce quite a few regressions: long connected sessions don’t render and seem stuck after idle and when returning to the app. All the different sessions just basically got stuck and I found myself closing the tab and start over.

My terminal

★★★★★Aug 16, 2026
Either love it or hate it? I loved it.

Based on the ratings, it seems that users either love or hate it. I am pleased with it, as it allows me to remotely open a terminal that is connected to my remote MacBook Pro. A terminal is not an interface for the faint-of-heart, but for more technically oriented users. It required some work on my MacBook Pro, though it was a breeze as ClaudeCode held my hand throughout the process. With this app now I can open a ClaudeCode terminal in my iPhone, or iPad, via SSH or MOSH, and work on it as if I was directly sitting in front my Mac. Worth $20/year in my opinion. Again: it requires some work on the Mac side. Based on the few reviews I read, seems to me, that those complaining either did not know how to set up the Mac side correctly, and/or do not want to pay for it. I have TailScale on my Mac, which made it easier though.

The one you’re looking for

This thing basically works right every time without any unnecessary bells or whistles. The $20 annual was a no-brainer.
