unzuverlässig

Nachdem 1Password 7 die Unterstützung der Safari-Extension abgeschaltet hat, musste ich nun auf die neue Version wechseln. Leider funktioniert sie nur unzuverlässig. Häufig muss ich mehrmals klicken, warten oder die Seite neu laden, bis die Möglichkeit zum Login erscheint. Besonders unzuverlässig funktioniert z.B. der Login bei der Comdirect. Ein echte Enttäuschung nach 15 Jahren zufriedener Nutzung.

Buggy since Universal Sign introduced

First of all the new universal sign in feature is simply trash as it cannot even suggest the correct login per website, all the time wants to login on pages that are not even login pages and messes with my 1password unlock & touch id in a way that causes nothing but headache. Second since the update that added this new universal login many features related to saving new accounts, generating passwords and editing entries behave unpredictable. That update caused that my most loved app became one of those i wish i could get rid of easily. 1Password was once known for extreme high quality software - now the seam to vibe code slop features. Please test properly before you ship updates!

It’s getting worse and worse with time

2-3 years ago the app was perfect in terms of usability. Unfortunately after the company started to grow they started to make changes to the app so it became very annoying to use.

No more pop ups

After one of the latest updates, 1Password won’t offer login popups anymore right under the username and password fields as I was used to. It’s a ridiculously bad piece of software (and an expensive one on top!)

1Password 7 war zuverlässiger

Leider noch immer nicht so zuverlässig wie in Version 7. Zudem fragt die Extension auch regelmäßig danach, ob mir die App gefallen würde. Ferner sind leider manche Dialoge nicht korrekt in die deutsche Sprache übersetzt worden. Sieht nicht so schön aus. Ich fand die integrierte Safari-Erweiterung von 1Password 7 vom Design her schöner - und auch zuverlässiger. Schade. Hoffentlich bessert AgileBits nach!

Funktioniert nicht zuverlässig

Ich nutze das Tool auf dem Mac, auf dem iPhone und auf dem iPad. Mac: es gibt zwei verschiedene Icons, eins links von der URL-Zeile, bei dem immer das Master-PW verlangt wird obwohl die App schon längst offen ist (-> nutzlos!), rechts der Kommandozeile den sog. Schnellzugriff, der mir eine Liste der möglichen Einträge zeigt und mir erlaubt, diese per D&D in die Seite zu ziehen. OK. Die Option, dieses Symbol in den auszufüllenden Feldern, auf das man zum Öffnen klicken kann funktioniert in 90% der Fälle nicht. Falls es funktioniert gibt es nur max vier Zeilen, die mögliche Einträge anzeigen, für einige Seiten habe ich aber noch mehr User (große Familie!), so dass ich doch in die App gehen muss. What’s the Use then??? Auf iPhone und iPad existiert das zuletzt genannte Problem auch! Ansonsten funktioniert die Extension auf den Mobilgeräten recht gut. Auf dem Mac ist sie stark verbesserungswürdig.
