WHAT THEY COMPLAIN ABOUT · SHARE OF BAD REVIEWS
Price and subscription41%

7 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ Why did I pay money for this?
★★★★★ My 7-day trial is going to burn up w/o ever being able to view the score I signed up for in the first place.
★★★★★ When you cancel, make sure you cancel both on the Nkoda page and in the subscriptions page of your music (itunes) app.
No customer support24%

4 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ I have reached out to the support team with no response.
★★★★★ It doesn't seem to support Big Sur.
★★★★★ Tech support doesn't get back at all.
Bugs, things not working18%

3 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ This download doesn't work either.
★★★★★ Why did I pay money for this? Why has this not been resolved after two years of issues? Great idea. Terrible execution.
★★★★★ Mouse scroll wheel doesn't work.
Limits, credits, locked features18%

3 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ I needed Qigang Chen's piece: Er Huang, for my master's Thesis. With this program you cannot download or print the score. You cannot even take screen shots of selected portions to turn those into pdfs. As a graduate…
★★★★★ In summary, you're locked into their app and the app is merely passable.
★★★★★ That is fine, but it is locked down to the extent that one can neither print from it, nor export to PDFs.
Login and account problems18%

3 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ After several steps, it still wanted to verify via my phone number; but only said "try again later" when I entered it, repeatedly.
★★★★★ None of them will sign in and allow me to view scores.
★★★★★ After downloading the app, creating the account, giving the permissions, charging the card, message "something went wrong." This happened repeatedly.
Crashes and freezes12%

2 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ Every time. Non-functional until fixed.
★★★★★ The app crashes everytime I open it on my computer.
Wrong or poor results12%

2 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ This scam-like behavior, along with nkoda's confounding and restrictive interface, results in an app that is all but useless
★★★★★ After downloading the app, creating the account, giving the permissions, charging the card, message "something went wrong." This happened repeatedly.

MacOS Does Not Work

I have tried numerous times to download the app from the site published by Nkoda. Never works. This download doesn’t work either.

People have complained about the desktop not working for at least two years

Why did I pay money for this? Why has this not been resolved after two years of issues? Great idea. Terrible execution.

Destop App is non-functional

... The desktop app is non-functional. It'd be cool if there was an internal engine that could open the files from the website. My 7-day trial is going to burn up w/o ever being able to view the score I signed up for in the first place. I was so close!!! :-(

★★★★★May 19, 2022
would be lovely if it could open!

the icon looks great; but I would love to be able to open the app. unfortunately I can't from my desktop.

★★★★★May 15, 2022
It does not open

I suppose to pay 100$ per year for an app which does NOT even open?

★★★★★Apr 12, 2022
Desktop App Nonfunctional

While all of the mobile versions were updated to have the library and the reader, which has its own problems because both are not integrated, the nkoda team has left the desktop application as an afterthought. That being said, while trying to study on a larger screen or on a separate monitor that has more screen real estate, I can no longer open the application at all. I have reached out to the support team with no response. I love the amount of scores available on the service. It's incredible for study, but with it being unusable, I don't find it reasonable to continue paying.
