WHAT THEY COMPLAIN ABOUT · SHARE OF BAD REVIEWS
Price and subscription27%

16 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ this isn't what I paid for, also subscription?
★★★★★ Subscriptions promises were not true
★★★★★ But zero chance I would pay a subscription for it.
Limits, credits, locked features10%

6 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ I paid for the extra scales, the next day I opened the app and they are locked again..👎
★★★★★ Limited chord extension choices
★★★★★ However after renaming a song I had been working on, the app hard locked where it just turned to a dark grey screen.
Wrong or poor results8%

5 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ When I write a song, I don't strum one chord once per measure, so this midi info is useless.
★★★★★ Theory is about describing and articulating these things, not right and wrong.
★★★★★ This is basically a useless feature to me if I cannot play along to the chords.
Lost data, sync, backup7%

4 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ For the last few weeks the individual notes portion is way off - doesn't match the chords in the wheel or real life - i deleted the app and reinstalled - no change
★★★★★ Ive gone through numerous steps and I still can't figure out how to unsubscribe.
★★★★★ It's a scam and you will lose your $10 if you buy it.
Bugs, things not working5%

3 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ chord extensions with guitar option enabled have buggy playback.
★★★★★ Been loving this app. However after renaming a song I had been working on, the app hard locked where it just turned to a dark grey screen. Cool, apps crash. Close app and reopen it. Shows TONALY logo then goes…
★★★★★ Really need to work out the bugs.
Slow, laggy, battery5%

3 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ The interface is very slow and difficult to work with.
★★★★★ The app runs very slow, and the navigation is not simple.
★★★★★ There must be some technical issue, for some reason it ran down my battery with 5 hours of background activity.
Worse after an update5%

3 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ UPDATE 5/5/21: A closer look into their data policies reveals that they provide our personal data to at least 3 other companies, each with their OWN privacy policies.
Missing features5%

3 of the 1 and 2 star reviews.

★★★★★ This wouldn't be a problem if many common fascinating and wonderful chord varieties weren't just missing.
★★★★★ Again- PLEASE tell me if I'm just missing something.
★★★★★ It seems, unless I am mistaken, that you can't have more than 2 chords to the bar for a song — I was using this as a novel way to create song charts and then the second I needed to have more than 2 chords to the bar,…
WHAT THEY ASK FOR
  • If I could suggest a couple of updates for a future release, it would be amazing to see support for more complex voicings: 4★, Jun 18, 2026
  • However, I wish I could have arpeggio textures on the sound, or something to make it only strum once per time interval. 4★, Aug 17, 2025
  • in future updates I would love to see the notes in the guitar scales light up as the scale is played with notes from a guitar rather than a piano. 4★, Mar 13, 2025
  • I wish I had this years ago! 5★, Aug 8, 2024
  • One request- when looking at scales on splitscreen on the iPad, please make it possible to scroll the guitar neck so that we can see the lower parts of it. 5★, Jun 4, 2024
  • It would be nice to have some drumming features, like very basic 4/4 or 3/4 background drumming, and maybe the ability to have a simple bass sound follow the chords. 5★, Mar 27, 2024
  • I wish there was something similar for melody writing, yt so far all the AI melody apps I tried have not impressed me, and maybe that's a good thing. 5★, Mar 27, 2024
  • They need to add a color scheme or dividers on the guitar scales cause I can't tell when they start and stop. 3★, Mar 18, 2024

scam?

It won’t let me pick guitar diagram no more! this isn’t what I paid for, also subscription? the dev sure wants to end like adobe, let’s see how far that gets you

★★★★★Oct 4, 2026
Key changes for different sections?

Hmm i was mainly looking for an app that can experiment key changes and transitions but it can't change the root key in the song in different sections....feels like thats a very common thing for song writing. It can borrow chords but it's hard to organize sections if its completely shift to a different key

Es fehlt was!

Die App würde von mir mindestens vier Sterne beckommen wenn bei den Songgriffen der Songtext mit Einsätzen dabeistehen würde! Aber so, verliert man schnell die Lust.
