Great content, poor UX

We really enjoy the content of the lesson which is engaging for the most part. But the pop up that the app allows, similar to ones you may encounter on Taobao, meant that this is not a very child-friendly app — I.e. I don’t feel comfortable leaving them with the app since the pop up ads can take them out of the experience.

教学理念太落后了。

今天孩子睡了，我自己玩了第一关，学习cat。我发现软件会先说中文的意思“猫”，然后再说cat。我印象里，2012年的英语新课纲就要求能够看图识图，而不是通过中文学英文，因为这样完全无法营造英文语境。英语新课纲的主旨，是让孩子在看到情境的时候就像原生英文使用者一样，能反应过来应该使用什么英文进行表达，而不是先在脑袋里反应出中文，再在脑袋里翻译成英文——如果是这种模式，就会造成每当看到英语时，脑袋里先反应的是中文。反映到现实中时，对应的表现就是说英语时卡壳——因为大脑里在先用中文来演绎情景，接着进入翻译，接着嘴巴才能说出来。在我看来，这个app是很落后的教学理念，我不明白为什么2022年了，还有这种理念不及2012年初的英语教学软件存在。更气人的是，我居然因为全科课包优惠而充值了终身账号，真是后悔！！
