ever since I switched from the pixel 7 to pixel 10 running on Android 17, the app stopped providing news alerts, I have done a clean reinstall of the entire phone and the app (not transfer from my old phone), clear storage & cache, enable notification, disable battery optimization (unrestricted), and nothing is working. tried maybe almost everything I can find via Google/ Gemini for resolution. is this issue communicated with Google?
Would like to support Canadian organization, but $9 per week is a bit steep. The Guardian is less than half that at $15/month. Replying to developer response: *I recommend* that you outline any promotional offers up front. It's not my job to go calling customer support to find out what offers you might have available. When I go to the store I expect them to display the price on the shelf, I don't expect to have to to the customer service desk and ask about every item that might be on sale 🤷
The app itself is okay, but I’m giving a low rating because the subscription experience is unnecessarily difficult. I can subscribe digitally online, but to cancel my digital-only subscription I’m required to call customer service during business hours. There should be an online cancellation option for an online subscription.
Was looking forward to a Canada-centric Daily Crossword, only for most of the hints to still be based on US knowledge, and the rest to be just plain bad
Has annoying bugs. Whenever you hit "more articles" the app stops unexpectedly and shuts down. You have to reopen the app and try again. Also, when reading articles, the font randomly changes from paragraph to paragraph. Overall, not a great app.
well G&M, you really did a great job on the latest revamp s/. Comment section is so broke, one would think it's designed to discourage participation. eg. before, able to go back to article to confirm a fact and continue comment. now lose what was in the post and start over again. Reference to other articles active comments either don't work or result in endless history rather than going straight back to the article started from. should be labeled Beta. canceling subscription at next opportunity.
