Store description
Piano Guy is your pocket piano and melody detector — for practice, humming ideas into notes, and seeing pitch light up on the keys.
Whether you are learning an instrument, warming up your voice, jotting a melody before it disappears, or just noodling on the couch, Piano Guy keeps the loop simple: play, listen, save. No account. No clutter. Just keys, pitch, and your tunes on your device.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
PLAY THE PIANO
Open a full virtual keyboard and tap notes anytime. Choose the tone that fits your mood — warm piano, soft, bright, or pluck — and add optional reverb when you want a little more room around the sound.
LISTEN AND SEE THE NOTES
Turn on Listen and use your microphone. Piano Guy detects pitch on your device and highlights matching keys as you sing, hum, or play another instrument nearby. Watching notes land on the keyboard makes pitch feel concrete — great for ear training, checking intonation, or capturing a phrase you cannot write down yet.
SAVE TUNES IN YOUR LIBRARY
When a take feels right, save it. Your library keeps detected melodies on your phone so you can reopen them later, replay them on the piano, and keep building from what you heard. It is a lightweight sketchbook for melodies, not a complicated DAW.
WHY PIANO GUY
• Fast from launch to first note — no signup wall
• Real-time pitch mapping onto piano keys
• Multiple sound characters for practice and play
• Optional reverb for a more musical feel
• Local library for saved tunes
• Clear, calm interface made for focus
• Works offline for core play and listening once installed
WHO IT IS FOR
Beginners who want a friendly keyboard and visual feedback. Intermediate players who want a portable scratchpad. Singers and teachers who like seeing pitch land on keys. Anyone who catches melodies in the shower, on a walk, or between classes and wants a place to park them.
HOW A TYPICAL SESSION LOOKS
1. Open Piano Guy and tap Play when you want to explore by hand.
2. Switch to Listen when you want the mic to catch what you are singing or playing.
3. Watch keys light as notes are detected.
4. Save a tune to your library when you like the phrase.
5. Come back later, open the tune, and replay it on the piano.
TIPS FOR BETTER DETECTION
• Use a reasonably quiet space when possible
• Hold a steady pitch for cleaner note reads
• Keep the phone mic unobstructed
• Start with simple phrases, then try faster lines
• If a room is very noisy, move closer or reduce background sound
PRIVACY AND DATA
Piano Guy is designed to stay on your side of the screen. Microphone audio is used for on-device pitch detection while you Listen. We do not require an account to use the app. Saved melodies and settings are stored locally on your device. Deleting the app or clearing app data removes that local information. We do not sell your personal data, and the current version is not built around advertising profiles or mandatory cloud sync.
SOUND AND FEEL
The keyboard is meant to feel inviting rather than clinical: soft surfaces, readable keys, and sound options that cover gentle practice through brighter play. Haptic feedback can nudge you when notes are captured, and you can turn that off in settings if you prefer silence.
WHAT PIANO GUY IS NOT
It is not a full recording studio, sheet-music publisher, or social network. It will not replace a teacher or a dedicated tuner for every professional edge case. It is a focused companion for playing, hearing, and keeping melodies close — especially when inspiration shows up without a notebook.
GET STARTED
Install Piano Guy, grant microphone permission when you want Listen, and try a short phrase. Tap a few keys, hum a line, save what sticks. The best way to understand the app is a two-minute session: one playthrough by hand, one listen take, one saved tune.
Thank you for trying Piano Guy. If the app helps you catch even one melody you would have forgotten, it is doing its job.
