This game is awesome! Tickles the strategic brain no end. I highly recommend checking out the galaxy guide if you do play, its almost necessary to understand the game.

The game doesn't let you play. Many of the captains are trash, which is fine by me, but getting a good one isn't enough. Even if you do, you will most likely get one of the two outcomes: -game spams you with MASSIVELY OP opponents and you get killed long before you can develop your deck -you win way before you get any satisfaction out of a good build. I like almost everything about this game - art, idea, battle mechanics. Balancing issues don't bother me. Being unable to play is what does.

the game was good, but the last set absolutely nuked the balance. it's extremely frustrating playing against some of the captains now like Vue or Bing Wu, which are just so incrementally more powerful than the older ones. if they take steps to balance the release like they did with prior versions if give it a higher star again, because it's genuinely fun typically.

Gameplay is addictive and fun. Art is unique. World building is a slamdunk. For example: Jack Frost gets mixed with the story of Jack and Jill, so he has an opposite effect card named Jill Sunshine. Balancing is where the game loses some points. They make money off selling new captains, so power creep is real. The new captains from the latest expansion, for example, by default, start with a mechanic that makes their scaling and early game better than an older captain.

Great game overall, but ever since the new release, mechanics seem to have gone totally off the rails. Opponents deck attacks in a way that makes sense. My deck will attack a card it cant kill and ignore one that is completely open for said kill. Every previous month I have gotten to level 50 without too much challenge; pretty sure my win loss ratio has dropped to 1:5 at best since Chromaria. Not expecting easy wins but honestly can say the game is losing appeal quickly.
